TERRIBLE SMELL from ceramic coating regardless of following the care instructions from A to Z......

I have barely used this mug and when I started doing so I was so happy that I made my friends and boyfriend buy it... UNTIL it developed the worst smell. I have tried everything to get the smell out, soaking my fellow with the mix of vinegar, baking soda and water and leaving it with baking soda and warm water for 1 hour on 5 different days and leaving it open to dry facing downwards and THE SMEELL IS STILL THERE.
It is definitely coming from the mug itself and I do not understand how if the ceramic is intact, the mug is in perfect condition but it has been IMPOSSIBLE to use it because of that stinky smell.
I contacted Fellow since this issue is definitely a problem of the product itself and not misuse and the reply was:
"Unfortunately at this time, I'm unable to advise on any other methods for this issue. " and a discount code of 10% I will not be using.

I was such a fan of this brand and believed the whole purpose of ODOR FREE yet what I smell out of it is TERRIBLE PERMANENT ODOR.

This mug's design is beyond perfect. The experience of carrying and sipping from it is exactly as wonderful as described. Unfortunately the ceramic interior REALLY holds onto old coffee/tea smells. I've tried baking soda, vinegar, lemon juice, Dawn... nothing will rid the old smells. It's unpleasant enough to knock two stars off the review, since all I want to taste is the beverage I've just brewed.

Outside paint chipping

It’s the perfect size and keeps coffee hot and cold for a long time. Unfortunately, the outside paint has started chipping despite only handwashing with mild soap, nonabrasive sponge, and warm water, which is very disappointing since not using it more than a few times.

I have loved this cup BUT…

I have loved this cup so much from when I first purchase but the matte paint coating has recently started to chip all around the top of the cup like other reviews. I’ve followed the care instructions and now, I can’t even drink from it without getting paint chips in my mouth… not sure if this just a dud or if this is typical but unfortunately, in my experience this thermos doesn’t really hold up over time.

Inside coating is a dud!

I was so pleased with my new travel bottle so the first few weeks - sleek, pretty, perfect size, nice to sip out of, genius splash guard feature… but while cleaning it now, I’ve just noticed that the ceramic lining has started to come off! I thought for a second that it just wasn’t coming clean with the sponge but then realized the coating was literally coming right off!

Awesome Initial Impression

First, I wanted to mention that my first mug I ordered was lost in the mail and they replaced it ASAP. Amazing customer service!
As for the mug, it fits my cupholder nicely, it keeps my coffee warm for a long time, the splash guard is nice because I walk to class with my coffee a lot, and having that ceramic inside sets them apart from any other to-go coffee mug I’ve ever tried. I really like the thin lip around the edge to drink from. If I had to complain about anything, it would be that sometimes it’s a little awkward to find a spot to set the lid and splash guard if I take that out too but then again, I could’ve just ordered the one with the flip lid. I like the screw-on lid because it gives me a lot of confidence that it’s not gonna leak when I slide it into a backpack or something.
I provided a picture of the inside because I don’t remember there being any shots of the inside on the product page.
I honestly can’t speak highly enough on the fact that the inside is ceramic. Before what I would have to do is make my coffee into a coffee cup, let it cool, then decant into my to-go cup because I make light roasts that are fairly acidic and use near-boiling water. At these temps (and acidity?) you will notice weird flavors if you brew directly into a plastic container. I notice weird tastes in metal containers, such as a yeti, at any temperature. Now I brew directly into my mug since it’s ceramic. I would advise removing the splash guard if you brew directly into it.

Fits in the Tesla cup holders

It's great! I had been looking for a top quality mug that also fits in my car (Tesla Model Y) cupholder. The splash protection really does a good job too, so now I can enjoy great coffee on the go without worrying about spilling!
