Everything I wanted and more

Upgraded from Instinct solar surf to this and the upgrade was beyond my expectations! All the data! All the battery life! All the simplicity! Love being able to change settings from my phone.

Disappointed about the surf app

I like the watch but I bought it for the surf app and it doesn’t work accurately. Wave accountability is not correct at all and because of that there is missing info regarding the speed, the distance and the waves taken in the map. To be honest if I knew this feature was not going to be accurate I wouldn’t have bought this expensive watch. The rest is good but I did not buy it for the rest of applications. Shouldn’t be sell as a surfing watch is the application is not working correctly

So much data! Excellent

I got this watch for my birthday two months ago and was honestly a little nervous switching from the Apple Watch to Garmin. My nervousness subsided fairly quickly since the watch pairs very easily and the Garmin Connect app has so much information all in one place.
The surf feature on this watch far exceeds anything Apple offers. It provides wave count, distance traveled, speed, GPS coordinates and tides for whatever spot you are surfing and does connect to Surfline if you have that subscription. It was awesome to see all of the additional data as compared to Apple's total workout time and calories spent.
I've used the watch for gym workouts, hikes, walks and golf and each provides far more user information in Garmin Connect than Apple does. The golf feature is incredibly accurate on yardages and the set time tracking in the HIIT workout is really cool to keep your intensity up.
So far, the only downsides for me on this watch (and they're minimal) is that the screen is not in color and I have a really hard time reading it in the dark. I also think the watch face could be a tad larger like some of the other Garmin watches.
Last but not least, charging the watch. Huge bonus. I had to charge the Apple Watch daily. With the Garmin, even when working out 4-5 times per week, a single charge is lasting around 2 weeks. This can vary based on how you set up the face but it's been consistently lasting about 2 weeks per charge.
Overall, I would highly recommend this watch to anyone, especially surfers, and anyone who likes to track all of their daily health data. It's all in the Garmin Connect app at the touch of a fingertip. It's an excellent watch and app combo.

Very Low Max Brightness

This watch seems incredible. Full of features. I am a huge Garmin fan. However, I had to return it. The max brightness is too low/weak for me to use. I guess this is a design function to max out battery life (from independent reviews I read after purchase). I'd suggest that Garmin state this "feature" in the product description, which is my main complaint.. not necessarily the watch itself. Full disclosure, I'm 50 y.o. & my near sight isn't what it used to be.

Better features than instinct 1

This model has a much longer battery life and gps and tracking features are more accurate.
