It makes a lot of promises that it just doesn’t fulfill. It would be nice if it came with a manual! My watch can’t seem to get a stair count even close to what is accurate, if I live in a two story house and if I go upstairs, obviously I have to go downstairs! Sometimes the app will say that I ascended 3 times, but descended zero times, not possible! I wear the watch every night and the next morning it will tell me to wear it to bed to get accurate readings for sleep and hrv and yet I have?? The mileage isn’t accurate also, it was telling me 5 miles and my old watch, a Fitbit, was telling me 6.6 miles, so I drove the route I exercise on and my vehicle registered 6.4 miles, so now I have to actually manually input the 6.4 miles. I also do a rowing machine, but you have to have a certain Garmin to sync it with the rowing machine and mine isn’t the correct one. I also put in the app that I didn’t want to receive emails on the watch, but it is still sending them to the watch?! It does have a good battery life though, although I don’t think Solar is working on it, I have had to charge it every time it gets low, but it definitely beats the Fitbit for lasting battery life.

I love the battery life and all the features. I do wish however that the smaller Instincts had the actual flashlight. The flashlight that is on the screen is a no for me.
Haven't had any problems with the watch. Wore it through a fire season as a wildland firefighter and held up great! Only thing holding it back from a 10/10 is that the battery drain fast when using the GPS. Tracking an hour run will drop the charge 4 days.
I go on solo trips out of town to camp, mine, and fish and I love the emergency safety feature! Being able to track my sleep and stress levels has really helped me focus more on enjoying life. Learning to navigate the watch's is a bit much, but like any new tech it becomes natural the more you use it.
I have tried close to a dozen fitness wearables. Sure nowadays they all track about the same metrics but what is the one thing that can cause you to break that cycle? Charging. There is not another device on the market with the battery life of a Garmin. Even using the gps a few times a week the device still last half a month. The durability is another competition destroyer. You won't regret it at all.
Battery life is no where near the advertised life, the gps is horrible, the ability to modify the watch face is not as advertised, my old Garmin was better in every respect, would not recommend to anyone

I needed a durable watch for myself while working in the field and recreating. What finally sold me on the Instinct 2s solar is that it's smaller and better suited for my "delicate girl wrists". I'd been gifted an apple watch previously and it immediately got scratched and was just too tech-looking for me. I've been wearing the Garmin watch for about 3 months and have no complaints! The solar seems to help supplement the battery life, I'm glad I splurged for it.
I've only had this for a few days, but very happy with battery life, GPS accuracy, and interoperability with my phone. I had purchased one for my son for his boot camp graduation and he couldn't recommend it strongly enough- so I decided to treat myself! I haven't found anything that I'm unhappy with- definitely functions as marketed! I'm training for a marathon currently and then will be completing the Grand Canyon R2R- I'm excited to have the flexibility of solar!
