Go without the computer

The RW900 is a fine rowing machine, but the computer is a waste of time and money. The video quality is ridiculously poor and if you don't let the warm up timer count down to at least 1 minute remaining, then your actual workout video will end up buffering. Add to that the large stats bar across the top that covers about an inch of the video and the whole point of following along to an outdoors row is wasted. For example, the beginner rowing workout with a row on the Themes river in London: in that video the rower/trainer tries to point out city landmarks, but the video quality and the stats bar make looking at the scenery pointless. So the monitor/computer is very slow/poor. The fact that the on-board workouts have buffering problems is just a sign of its weakness. The 2TB hard drive is a spinning hard drive so that adds to the slowness. And who turns off their computer by unplugging it? That's what you have to do to turn it off - just pull the plug. I'm sure that will shorten its life. And even though it has an HDMI port, it isn't for inputting video (i.e. you can't stream other video into the screen). And streaming a live workout again suffers buffering because the computer can only connect via WI-FI which, as a collision based networking protocol, is prone to more buffering. And oh ya, you will want to put a post it note on the camera at the top of the monitor - there is no physical on/off pivot switch.
Other than that, it's a fine rower. So save your money and get either of the NT smaller models.

So far this has been great! Pretty easy to set up and use. I really like the variety of programs for rowing on iFIT. Easy to find a workout or program to follow. A couple of things could be improved: the starting programs should have had an obvious start here for set up and overview of the navigation and there is no off button that I have found you need unplug the machine or leave the screen running.
Overall, I would have liked a lower price but I like the machine and don’t regret buying it.
I would recommend this to a friend!
