The bars being non removable without destruction is a big turn off. Stuck with cheap bands until I find something I like. The start button being red, neon green, or orange is a hard choice; they don't match everyday outfits in my opinion. I dress very sporty and it looks nice. It's a great, chunky piece of technology that I'm proud to have as my first sportwatch(watch in general). It stays under my sleeve most times and I love it for what it's good at. I took off a star because I bought it as a survival tool. I am bad with directions and travel frequently. I need another option to navigate when all my other systems fail. This isn't the tool for that. Bike rides and walks seem to end themselves, not allowing any saved adventures. I'm still learning how to use this but I understand its limitations

Blows Samsung Watches Away!

I've had this watch for a few weeks and in that time I would have had to charge the Samsung watch 21 times. I've only changed the Epix once when it got done to 6 days left on the battery.
The applications are much more configurable than on other watches. For example, the watch face has other data provided in widget-type areas of the screen that you can change to whatever you like. Don't like the date on the right, move it to the bottom. Don't need to see your current altitude, change it to the number of steps you've walked, etc.

Epix (Gen2) Meets My Needs

The Epix Gen 2 meets my needs for a wearable smartwatch and fitness tracker. I use the health trackers daily and the fitness trackers multiple times weekly. I am an avid cyclist and hiker, and Garmin's functionality exceeds what my wife's Iwatch provides.
I use the heart rate monitor function while cycling instead of a chest strap; although the watch format isn't as accurate as a chest strap, the accuracy is good enough for my needs.
I also like how the Epix watch integrates with my Garmin cycle computer. I use a Garmin Edge 830 on the bike.
Battery Life is great - the set-up I use has the battery lasting a little better than 10 days, and I always wear the watch, including while I sleep.

Nice watch, when it works

I am going on my third one, 2nd replacement, in 3 months, because of a reset to default setting loop that it gets stuck in.
I like all of the features, but am not very confident in it lasting without getting stuck in a loop again.

It's great...but

I love this watch I upgraded from the venu, but there's only one thing I don't like and that's the sleep schedule. I wish there was a way to disable the sleep schedule and have it automatically detect my sleep like my venu did

My Nice Upgrade

I went from an Apple Watch to the Garmin Fenix 6X and now to the epix (Gen 2). The Apple Watch was nice but charging it every day was not ideal. I liked the Fenix 6X fine but not having a touchscreen was a point against. Now I have the best of both. This does everything the Fenix does, so no features are lost. I use it to track my activity everyday and when I workout at the gym. I like being able to track my rest and total time working out with the estimated calories burned. Great watch.

Beautiful watch!! Has some watch face limitations

This is a beautiful watch, and I love all the features. However, I am disappointed that there are some watch faces like Star Trek and Star Wars, that you cannot download. Come on I could download those on my Fenix 5+, so why should I not be able to download them on this newer more powerful watch with a better display?
