Incredible Device, Best Fitness Tracker
on January 17, 2024

We chose Garmin because it is a cross-platform device, it comes with a battery life of many+ days, and it is collaborative. My wife an I use different phone OS, but with Garmin so we can stay on the same tracker platform to compare notes, participate in competitions together, and help motivate each other. My wife switched first and loved her experience, so she got me the Fenix 7 for Christmas - cost-justified by plans to section hike parts of the AT this summer. The buttons took a minute to learn, but only 2 days after unboxing I knew enough to set off on a 26 mile backpacking trip with my trail maps uploaded. It was incredible to have to pull out the phone; everything was there on my wrist; Maps, Music, Data, Compass, Turn-by-Turn directions, and a Flashlight (use this often). I did felt a little guilty given the price, but it is an incredible device.

Pretty fantastic for such a pricey watch
on January 23, 2024
Posted by: CasualWatchuser
I purchased this watch two years ago and it has been performing strong up to this day. The battery life is substantial depending on what activity I do each day. If I use the GPS every day for various activities, then the battery power will drain faster. Otherwise, normal daily watch usage can expect the battery to last well over two weeks before a recharge.
Map is accurate and I really like it on the watch and/or from the app on the mobile device. So many other functions.
Negatives:
- Steps for ANY device (not just Garmin brand) is not scientifically accurate. However, it isn't completely false, just not accurate. It does detect different steps between a taller person vs a shorter person.
- Solar powered version is a gimmick. It cannot really store enough power to charge up the watch to full. You will need to plug it in from time to time to recharge completely.
Side note: Heart rate chest strap is recommended for accuracy.
Summary:
Overall, this is a good buy for the casual user. If you want something super accurate, maybe you need to test this out first. Check out all the reviews online for more details than I can provide. I like the looks and durability of this watch, so I will recommend it to anyone considering it.

Features
on February 2, 2024

The features are such an upgrade from my Fenix 5S. 1 issue, when I first started using my new watch it would pick up my phone calls, activities, and other things linked. I updated it and now they will not show on my watch face. Have checked all buttons and everything looks set right.

Long battery and good look

I bought Fenix 7X a month ago as replacement of Venu2.
Battery is longer than Venu2 and looks is also great. I like.
One thing not so good thing is display is not so clear.
But almost great watch.

A watch that has features I want
on March 17, 2024
Posted by: Noa958
I have been using the Fenix watch for over a month and it has replaced my Apple Watch mostly because of the battery. The Fenix 7 has a great battery life. I only have to charge it once every 2 weeks. This is important because I backpack and camp any chance I get. I am also liking the map feature… I can create my own hikes. This watch has so many features and I am by no means an expert. However It has been easy to learn how to use the features I need for the activities I participate in.

Very unhappy

The watch always is unpairing. I’ve already uninstalled and reinstalled the watch 3 times. The watch when I scroll through the apps always is telling me to pair with phone. The phone is always less than 5 feet away.
