Works great, great batter, but lower the price of the bands...way too expensive for what it is.

Fenix 7

So to start, I changed over from an Apple Watch because the battery on the Apple Watch wouldn’t even last 8 hours towards the end. Then it just died and when I took it in they said it was dead and I could pay full price to have Apple send me a refurb one. So that ended my Apple Watch wearing.
I changed over to an instinct solar and liked it but it didn’t have the full screen due to the circle in the corner and it had a plastic back. It would occasionally cause an issue with my wrist so I was able to trade it in and get credit towards a new fenix 7.
So now on to the fenix 7. First impression was that it is heavier and extremely well built. The size and weight don’t bother me in the least. I’m a big person and it looks completely normal on my wrist. I love the touch screen. The call and text messaging notifications on it are excellent. I have uploaded the maps to it. I left it on wifi overnight to add them. I haven’t used them much yet. There is a ton of functionality that I probably don’t use on it. But it is worth everything I paid for it.
The two negatives I have are small. First, it will disconnect and reconnect when it is within a few feet of my phone occasionally and intermittently. This could also be a cause of my phone because it is acting a little different with the recent software upgrades so this negative may not even be the watch’s fault. Second, I wish you could reply to text messages from the Watch. Even if it were canned responses like yes, no, I’ll call you in a minute……or something. That’s not a huge negative and I knew about that before I got it so I knew going in I couldn’t. I still love the watch.
If you’re looking at one I’d definitely consider it. Mine has 16 days of battery life from a charge. I’m not sure if the solar would be worth it in the fenix 7. Same with the crystal face, I don’t know if I’d upgrade to that because of the darkness of the display with the crystal face. Either way if you decide on a fenix 7 I think you will be extremely happy. I know I am.

Had this watch for almost a month and love it. Touch screen is solid. Buttons make it super easy to use with fat fingers

I got the Fenix 7 instead of an Apple watch because I wanted better battery life and fitness features (also I had an Apple Watch before and Apples watch and health apps are trash)
I’ve been really happy with the real world battery use and took the fenix for a spin at an OCR on the weekend and it performed great.
Once you are use to what all the buttons do navigating the UI is really awesome. I don’t use the touch screen that much but I like having it to enter my pin when using garmin pay.
I would have liked the ability to do phone calls but all the other features are so much better. I also would have liked if it was cheaper :)

Still learning it but love it

I bought this watch about a month ago. Looked at the Instinct, bought the vivoactive4 instead. Really liked it and nothing was wrong with it but the fenix7 was calling to me. Retuned the vivo, purchased the Fenix and I have never enjoyed a watch more. I believe I may have a crush on it. I wear it 24/7. I will be honest it may be too much watch for my fitness lifestyle but I wouldn’t trade it for a luxury watch. I’m still learning the setup and how best to use it. I’m a golfer, hiker and CrossFit athlete. All at beginning levels but I’m consistent. Only thing I did was change out the band. I still use the silicone band during workouts but clean and change after. I can’t se buying a different watch. Maybe the fenix10 whenever that comes out.
