I'm writing this review after years of use. This thing has been amazing! I use it all the time in all seasons. The only thing I've had to do is clean it out and it just keeps running. Love it!
This is and great grill only thing I would change is the exhaust wish it would hold more smoke for flavor. Made of Quality material. Easy to assemble. The app is awesome with cool recipes. Made great pulled pork!
T-Bones, brisket, chicken, pork shoulder, bacon, all done with ease and all really really good.
I actually liked the assembly process as it allowed me to see just how well built this thing is. Pretty sure it is going to last a long time and the materials all seemed to be first rate. The on board menu is easy to use and the app is really good. I like the fact that I can use multiple tempature probes and know exactly the status of the grill and food by looking at the grill or the app. It's nice to sit inside when it's 15 degrees outside and know that everything is going well.
I have had many Weber product in my like including a number of kettle grills, smokers, and gas grills. This unit is exactly what I would have expected from Weber, and no, they did not pay me to say that. Excellent food in a well built machine.
I've been using the SmokeFire EX4 (2nd Gen) Wood Fired Pellet Grill since Summer 2023, approximately 40 times. I bought it with the intention of retiring my Weber Smokey Mountain 14" smoker (weekly use for almost four years) and my Spirit E-210 propane grill (multiple times per week for eight years). Sadly, other reviews indicating I'd be dissatisfied with the pellet smoker as a replacement are true for me. I think the grill has great features--particularly the automatic temperature setting, as well as integration with the Weber App--but it has performance issues that make it a difficult thing to love. I have an open ticket for mysterious temperature drops and code errors that I get in about 50% of my use. It eats A LOT of pellets compared to the WSM's use of wood chips or chunks, and of course, it just can't replace the speed of a propane grill. As noted in the title, it also is hard to keep clean, both inside and out. There is a fine pellet dust that rests on the inside of the grill and most unfortunately on the food being cooked inside. The exhaust vents on the outside deposit both grease and the pellet dust onto the hopper lid, which I regard as a design flaw, which must be cleaned routinely during use if you want to access the hopper without getting grease on yourself. Reaching the back portion of the main grill is quite difficult with the top grill installed, which is not an issue in the Spirit propane grill that I've used routinely for eight years. Perhaps most infuriatingly, the price of the grill dropped by 30% about a month after I purchased it because of the launch of a new model. This information wasn't available at time of purchase and so I feel that the value of the SmokeFire compared to its performance is now ever further out of whack than I did before.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I just got this grill at Christmas. So far I’ve used it twice. The first was a complete success and made the most amazing pork chops I’ve ever had at home. The second go at it was a rib roast. It started ok but once the meat was on for about 45 minutes the grill started smoking like mad and the temp went up to 435 from 225 where I had it set. It never sent a warning on the app (which was running) and I think it affected the outcome of the process. After resetting the grill and getting it back to 225 set point, it went the rest of the cook as normal. I believe this occurrence made the meat taste different, but since it was my first on this grill I’m not 💯! From the first grill to this one the taste and expected results were totally opposite! I will give it another run this next weekend and maybe during the week as well. I’m going to believe it was a fluke because it was highly unusual, but what if I didn’t notice the high temp, would it have burned to the ground?? It will have to gain my trust back that’s for sure. Other than that the features and capabilities are top of the line!
