This is my first pellet smoker/grill, and I love it! It heats up quick, delivers smoke, and the meat stays nice and moist. Easy clean-up, especially if you put a drip pan to catch the juice. The app and temp sensors work great, and adjustments from your phone are super easy. I didn’t know what to expect, but I most certainly am not disappointed! I’ve smoked veggies, beef, chicken, and pork, and it’s all come out great. I’ve used gas, wood, and charcoal grills, and this is a combo of all of the great features of all of them.
Excellent grill all the way around. Right from delivery, follow the instructions on the box, some of the packaging is used to make the assembly easier. I purchased the smaller EX4 and added the front SS Shelf, this is a must have in my opinion and should simply be included. The EX4 is the perfect size for smaller number of mouths to feed and fits a larger brisket just perfectly. One issue for me is the finger guard in the pellet hopper, it is noted in the customer forums of being an issue of preventing pellet flow, something I experienced on my first cook. I have also been using this grill in some of the cold temperatures here in Canada - I cook on the grill year round - and I found the grill to be impressively efficient on fuel and temperature regulation. I didn't go shopping for a new pellet grill/smoker thinking I'd be buying a Weber, so glad that I made that choice and excited to FIRE it up each time!

Love the phone app for grill controllability and also alerts. Attractive exterior with Weber styling was a big factor as well. Bottom line is I’m very impressed with wood and smoke flavor that imparts on any food. EX4 is great size for family of four and still allows me to put 6 racks of ribs and 70 wings using both levels. Nice Job Weber!!
So far I am really enjoying this smoker. It is easy to use, maintains temp well, and generates a moderate amount of smoke. Also I like that it will get up to 600 degrees so it can be used as a grill too

Great food, poor reliability

I have own this smoker for a year and a half, I regularly vacuum and clean it out. I have replaced he glow plug on it twice.
Pros: Direct heat for searing, good smoke flavor, smoke boost
Cons: Regular flame outs, the display/control unit is cycling on and off lately.
Would I recommend this grill? No, go buy the competitors brand or a weber gas grill.

Grill is working better than before new auger was installed but still occasionally looses temperature and has to be restarted.

Pellet quality is often the biggest factor in success and fresh Weber pellets are always recommended. It is important that unused pellets are stored in an airtight container, and not the grill's hopper, as they can quickly degrade.
Regular cleaning/maintenance to remove excess grease from the grill, and pellet dust/debris from the hopper/auger will also help to prevent smoke-outs and temperature issues.

Parts don't last

I have now had the smoke fire for over a year. When it works its fine but it has broke on me so many times. I have gone through multiple igniters, the fan motor, the auger motor, and the igiter sensor. I get a new part. Works fine for a month then something goes out.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
