Long time gas Weber grill fan along with some charcoal and electric smoker history. Grill controls are questionable and recommend manual operation only. I’ve made some excellent meals on it and saved others with backup grills or ovens. I’m not sold on these pellet grills in general. Pellet cost is excessive..
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Maintenance and pellet quality are key to your grill's performance.

A couple of keys to remember:

1. Use fresh Weber pellets for best results.
2. Do not use old, wet, or degraded fuel as dust can cause clogs.
3. Purge hopper completely when not in use for two or more weeks.
4. Make sure pellet dust doesn't build up in the hopper chute

Wonderful machine, makes smoking super easy. The app needs work. Convoluted and not smooth to operate. I still don’t know how to start and adjust the temps using the app.

To adjust the temperature from the app, open up the Weber Connect app and pair your phone to SmokeFire.

The control is easy to use and to control. Small led a pork shoulder and it was a great cook. Smoke was light, but that was my decision I’ll work the smoke into the cooks later.

So far so good. I have used it 4 or 5 times after the burn off. The reviews are right you have to clean it often but not a big deal as I keep it clean anyway. It warms up quickly and holds a temp pretty steady. Only issue so far is the pellets still don't slide down the auger shaft very well well so you have to keep an eye on it when it gets low!
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have 3 Weber grills: a Genesis 335, a Weber deluxe kettle, and the Smokefire EX-4. When it works well, it’s fantastic, but I’ve had enough intermittent and unexpected issues to not give a 5-star rating. I have the Gen2 of the Smokefire ex4 , but I still have had several flameouts. The solution has always been relative easy—vacuum the bed of the grill and the fire pot and restart.
I don’t like the hopper design (too easy to waste a ton of pellets between hopper and grill, don’t like the grease control, but I love the looks the software, the four probes, the range of heat, and the end product that comes off the grill. I have found that Weber brand pellets produce fewer problems in the hopper (your results may vary)
I would recommend this to a friend!
