I have been a weber charcoal and propane gas grill fan for years. Followed the pellet grill world for a while. Read about the first gen Smokefire, discouraged, but not given up knowing the history of Weber. Kudos on the gen 2 version. I have used several times and know that I have made the right purchase. The electronics are amazing! Price/value, a no-brainer with money back solution.
I absolutely love the grill. You get plenty of smoke flavor (be sure to use the smoke boost setting) and it is very steady and reliable for longer cooks. I did a full brisket for 12 hours and had great results. Also functions great as a regular grill for burgers and dogs. The only drawback is the clean up. But this may be true for all pellet smokers. A fair amount of ash, but the grease that collects at the bottom needs to be cleaned basically every time you cook unless using a drip pan.
I have had a treager, and recently before purchasing my weber a pit boss smoker. The weber by far is the best .....from the performance, to the clean up....and the flavor from the weber pellets have had great reviews from friends and family that I have cooked for.
I am still in the "trial and error" phase of using this grill, but am impressed with it's ease of use and temperature control. Having the Weber Connect app really is useful and makes it so just about anyone can grill well. Lots more exploring to do, but I am enjoying doing so.
Had some bad whee caster threads on assembly, customer service was awesome about replacing ASAP and even sent some free pellets. Grill beats up super fast, stays clean and easy to clean. Holds temp perfectly. And so far has outlived all My expectations.
The more I use the smoke fire grill the more I learn and the more I enjoy using it. Infact I enjoy it so much that I sold my treager grill and I definitely would recommend this Weber grill to anyone interested in purchasing a wood pellet grill. Very satisfied with my purchase.
