After having owned 3 other pellet smokers this is by far the best one. While, most can smoke good no other pellet smoker can grill like this one. Only issue Ive had with this grill is that the pellets bunch up in the hopper and stop feeding. Forums recommended removing the finger guard and sure enough that solved the problem; no feeding issues anymore. Also, something not mentioned enough it's made in the US.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have had the Smoke Fire for two months and probably used it 6-8 times and it failed two of those times. The first fail was the second time I used it…the fire went out and the pellets kept coming. I cleaned it all out and started over and it cooked fine.Tonight the motor crashed so its not getting any pellets error E7. The customer service person (who was good) walked me through everything and after three different tries and three E7 codes I am getting a new motor sent to me. I am frustrated but will install the new motor and give it another shot. I love Weber products(this is my 5th Weber Grill ) generally but have had problems with this and the Weber Connect. I am concerned Weber has ventured from their core products (which I was happy to follow) and are out of their element now. So far the service has been good….

Hi James, thank you for being a long-time Weber fan! We are so sorry to learn about the trouble you experienced with the E7 error code. Before the E7, was the auger turning and feeding pellets? We are glad to see that your new motor was delivered today. We will reach out shortly to ensure that the new motor fixed your issue. Thank you!
Cooks/ smokes well when it is working... have had this grill for a few months, and only used it about 10 times. The grill has quit working will not heat up, and or shuts off halfway through the cooking process. I have done all of the required maintenance and the replacement of parts that the warranty department has sent me. I have spent more time fixing and repairing this grill than actually cooking on it. Not happy!

Hi Greg, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your grill is having issues with heating and shutting down in the middle of your cook. This is not considered normal, and we would like to learn more about your experience. Please be on the lookout for a follow-up email from us shortly. Thanks!
Unfortunately, I had to send my 2nd gen SmokeFire back after less than 6 uses. My first two smokes went very well and smoker was very easy to use. However, after my 3rd attempt I couldn’t get the smoker to ignite and was forced into shutdown. Then the glow plug went out. The next several attempts (days apart) the same issues arose to no avail. I have been a loyal Weber customer for over 25 years and can say I am disappointed for the first time using a Weber product. Still on the fence about getting a new unit or going a different direction. The smoker itself is slick, heavy duty and very well designed. Hoping mine was just a lemon and not what Weber is putting out there. I will say however, customer support was fantastic to work with in reviewing all possible options for a refund or replacement. Torn on this one given the money spent and other options out there but it is a Weber and willing to try again if they follow up with my feedback.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on your SmokeFire EX4 and being a long time Weber fan! We are sorry to hear that you experienced issues when igniting. For the glow plug to fire properly on your SmokeFire grill, you will need to ensure that the glow plug is connected properly and that the grounding wire is touching the glow plug itself. We are sorry to hear that you returned your grill however we are glad to hear that you are willing to give us another opportunity. We will reach out via email to assist further. Thanks!
Weber is one of the best companies out there and usually makes the best products. I started out with the kettle, have the Smokey Mountain Cooker Smoker, and am now on my second Genesis. However, the SmokeFire failed to reach temperature twice (pretty much shut down). The first time customer support spent an hour with me trying to solve the problem. When it happened again, I realized I just couldn't take a chance with an unreliable grill, so arranged for a return. The support and response couldn't have been better, and I am still a loyal Weber fan. In fact I went out and bought a new Genesis II to replace it. They just need to work out the kinks with this new pellet venture.

was having great success and cooking wonderful grilled and smoked items and enjoying the ability to view on my mobile app the status of the items cooking. I recently had problems with the grill loosing the flame and consented tech support and was first directed to change the glow plug. that seemed to work for a short while and then was directed to clean the auger with a shop vac and was informed this should be done after each time you use a full load of pellets. That seems to now have done the job and am now back to enjoying the grill. We consumers need to be informed of this important step to avoid this problem in the future..

It began catching fire after about 6 cooks. It was cleaned regularly and I reported the issue to the warranty department who stalled until the expiration of the money back gaurantee.
