Great machine. Only used a few times. One time it wasn’t “shutdown” properly causing ignition problems for the next time. Need to ensure that you properly shut the machine down — which is an extra step. Replacing the igniter is not super easy, needs tools.
Was ready to return the unit due to intermittent failures to heat. Figured out that the "finger guard" was creating pellet dams and randomly shutting the unit down. Took care of that and now my smoker runs great!
I have tried most grill styles over the years, Charcoal, vertical smokers, horizontal smokers, kamado grills and gas grills. With all of the grills I have also used, i have tried several of the temperature control units both WIFI and non-WIFI. My SmokeFire is by far the easiest to use. The grill gets to heat quickly and holds steadily through the cook. The WIFI doesn't drop.
Great grill. Had some early problems with defective parts. Once I got the replacement parts it has worked great. Weber has always been very good at supplying parts for their products. However the recent changes to their help desk system has made the process of getting parts tedious and time consuming. Eventually you can get what you needed, but it will take several exchanges of messages.
I’ve only used the grill one time. Pellets and ashes are mostly going into the grease pan. There are 2 hot spots ,1 to The left and 1 to the right . Going to check it all out. If I am not able to figure it out , I will call support. Nothing that major, Love the grill!
I have owned Weber products in the past and thought I would purchase their pellet smoker. I have been very unhappy with the purchase of this EX4 (2nd Gen). I have experienced it catching on fire, fluctuating temps and several ruined meals and much wasted pellets. would not recommend this product. I believe this is a defective product and can only hope the newer versions that these items have been corrected.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
