Great grill, needs a few tweaks

Works great, disappointed in a few things. The gap between the two grill grates can spread to almost a full inch. The flavor bars that catch and burn drippings are always falling off the rack when I wheel the grill out of the garage. The hopper always reads full. App needs work. But this cooks well. Have done everything from burgers to brisket, chicken to pizza and it all comes out great.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We do have grate clips that will help to hold your grates in place and reduce movement. We will send you out this part, it should help with what you are describing.
We will also confirm with you via email with photos but it sounds like the flavorizer bars could simply not be on the flavorizer brackets all the way or the flavorizer brackets may not be seated properly behind the clips in the cookbox and the brackets could be falling down with the flavorizer bars.
If your hopper is always reading full, it's possible that your fuel sensor is dirty and needs to be cleaned. Our Support team will also give you instructions to help with that!

Smokefire Disappointment

I bought the smokefire last year with high hopes. Unfortunately, I’ve had continuous issues including replacing the auger, motor, and hopper. This appears to be common among many owners of the product. I am also frustrated at the lack of consistency with the grill. When it works, it’s great. But it far too often does not start correctly or will flame out in the middle of cooking. I have great respect for Weber but I’m writing a negative review because this product did not meet their standards.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Cooks great chicken. Does not sear like my weber gas grill. Does not recover temp.as quickly as gas grill. Accessory posts/ are poorly designed. They look great but everything falls off of them. I am not sure I'll keep this pellet stove. To date smoked two chickens, a brisket, grilled hamburgers and dogs.

Makes great food but has issues

works well once you have it set up and dialed in. It does not have a dedicated usb port so if you dont have wifi or bluetooth it will be a problem to manage the unit since the onboard menu etc...isnt real user friendly. Also, the glow plug tends to burn up after a while and it takes out the whole glow plug assembly and the assembly is hard to find. I had to go to customer support to get one from weber.
I would recommend this to a friend!

As you mentioned, we recommend using this grill with a wireless device as this will allow you to take full advantage of the Smart features your SmokeFire has to offer. This will also allow you to make regular updates to your grill's software and firmware. We recommend updating regularly because the updates offer new features and improvements.
In response to your note about the glow plugs bracket, we would like to learn more about what you experienced and will follow-up. Access to the glow plug and shuttle is super quick with just 4 screws to get the back access door off and 1 screw to pull out the glow plug. Our Support Team will reach out to offer more tips. Disappointed that after using 12 times it broke. Got replacement parts but no confident it won't happen again with the history of the Gen 1.

Good grill but app is crap

I’m a longtime Weber fan. Good grill, well built, temp goes up rapidly and can get super hot. Disappointed though as for the price you’re paying other options have a much better app. Smokefire app is very limited and contrary to ads does not allow you to start the grill remotely or even change the grill temperature once the grill has been started. Kind of disappointed.
