Hit and miss if it will turn on and stay on. Most of time I have to go back to the stove to finish cooking my meals. The glow plugs always go out. Once the troubleshoot codes come on not even changing the glow plugs will get you back cooking. And yes I’ve followed the instructions and it just doesn’t work.

This was a design failure. The hopper on the back was clearly a mistake. This required the auger opening to be too small and offset which made it far to easy for the pellets to bridge. I suspect the grill was tested in ideal conditions but when used outside in humid or rainy weather, I had to constantly stir the pellets to get them to feed properly. Also it was nearly impossible to fill the hopper without spilling pellets everywhere. Thank you for taking this back and honoring your warranty. When you re-design this product with a proper pellet feed system, I will re-purchase it.

I’ve had this for a few years (unfortunately). It cooks the best steaks and burgers. But it won’t stay on long enough to cook a brisket or pork butt. It will flame out. It will make you push pellets down into the hole to feed the auger. The app doesn’t alert You to temperate drops. If it fails and you notice it, it takes 15 minutes to cycle through its shutdown process so you can start it again. And if you use the smoke boost feature? It will flake out every time and not tell you. When you restart it, it will over feed the flame pot spilling pellets everywhere. Then those will catch on fire in a huge way almost catching your whole grill and pellet box on fire. Stay away!!

Bought the 1st generation a few years ago. That one had a major failure in a support leg. Weber sent me a generation 2 to replace the failed one. I have spent many hours using this smoker. When it works it is great. The trouble is with their glo plug set up. I have had glo plugs last months and others have failed within a cook or two. I have had three major fire from excessive pellets being dumped into the fire pot. When that happens most of the time it is just a flame out but if there are hot spots watch out flames everywhere. If I had to do this purchase again, I would choose another smoker brand. I am sorry weber but you failed on this product.

I have had 2 cooks with the grill so far. The first cook.was ribs. They came out pretty good, bit a massive pile of grease leaked out of the bottom right of the drum causing a large grease stain on our paver patio. The 2nd cook was a brisket and I placed an aluminum pan in bottom of the drum to avoid the grease drip again. The temp stayed consistent for about 6 hours. Then the unit basically stopped and went from 250 degrees down to 65 degrees. We had to finish the brisket in the oven. The next morning I took everything apart and cleaned the unit. I ran it for an hour and seemed to work ok. I plan on trying a pork shoulder this weekend. Hoping for a better result. This was a pricey purchase and disappointed is an understatement.

Assembly, burn-in and WiFi connections all went well. Following the instructions are good, only missing a few more details would’ve been helpful. First cook @200 went great. Second cook I decided to use the SuperSmoke option, but realized the user does not set the low temperature, it’s automatic @180. [1] No cold smoking on this unit as temperature doesn’t go to 160 as advertised. [2] Using SuperSmoke shortens lifespan of glow plug. I can’t afforded to use one glow plug per SuperSmoke session.
After multiple ‘Flame-outs’ during cooks, I’m considering Opt.1 - Never use SuperSmoke or Opt. 2 - Sell and purchase a more reliable brand smoker.

I have trouble with this grill 7 out of 10 uses. Typically I get flame outs due to poor feeding, I have replaced the glow plug igniter at least once. The worst was a feed motor failure in the middle of a Boston butt 18 hour cook. The grill itself is well built and looks like it will last many years. The feed system apparently was designed by a 1st year engineering student as it is a total failure. I guess that’s why they stoped making it. By the way my grill is just barely 1 year old and it gave trouble from day one.
