After 2 months of use here are my thoughts. Three things to keep in mind when buying the SmokeFire EX6 2nd Gen. One it blows ash everywhere. In fairness it’s not a ton but you will see it on the outside of your grill. I’ve owned other pellet grills and never saw ash on the outside like this. Two everything you’ve read on the internet about the grease management system is true. Grease will drip down into the ash and clump up never making it to the drip pan below. I will say using aluminum pans resolves the issue just fine. Other grills use aluminum inserts to make clean up easy it’s pretty much the same here but the flavor bars are rendered useless. Third and most concerning is the hopper. I smoked a brisket over night and at about the 8 hr mark the pellets bridged and stopped being feed into the auger. Thankfully I had a secondary ambient temp monitor which woke me up with an alarm when the temp dropped to 165. I was able to quickly get to the grill and push the pellets into the auger and keep it going. My advice never go more than 6 hours without checking on the hopper. In addition the poor placement of the pellet sensor makes it useless. It should be placed directly over the auger. That being said the grill is beautiful, built in America, holds temp great, grilling space is amazing and I’ve turned out some very delicious food off this grill. Having two temp probes included is great! Also having the availability of using four ports total for temp monitoring is outstanding. The grill communicates with the app well and clean up is easy as long as you use an aluminum pan for grease drippings. Simply vacuum out all the ash, wipe down the outside of the grill and cover it. I wanted so badly to give this grill a 5 star rating because I love the Weber brand but 3 stars is very fair. I’m sure Weber has something in the works for a new pellet grill that resolves all these issues and more. Maybe the can provide a credit to the customers that own SmokeFire grills in order to buy the new one. I think that would help to create brand loyalty and ensure customers retention.

Thank you for your feedback. Your experience and satisfaction are important to us! We will bring your comments to the appropriate teams, as we are always interested in evolving and improving our products.
We recommend using fresh Weber pellets in your SmokeFire. Fresh pellets will snap when broken in half, not crumble. Dusty, crumbly pellets can create many unwanted issues such as auger jams and pellet bridging. Either of those issues could cause your grill to shut down mid-cook.
We would like to know more about your experience and offer our support. Please look for an email from our Care team soon. Thank you!
I have owned other pellet grills and the Smokefire is the best all around. The open flame allows for a cooking flavor similar to charcoal but the wood pellets has a cleaner flavor. The temperature are accurate and you can cook low and slow or sear a steak at 600 degrees. I owned one of the original versions which had some issues but Webber supported the product with replacement parts/unit and it’s now working good.
My complains, as they are, having nothing to do with the cooking/smoking of the Grill. Very satisfied with the EX6. The glow plug is a bit difficult to install and the flavorizer fall out of place easily.
Make sure you read the manual. Had a “friend “ think he knew all he needed to know and burnt the grill up. I was so upset I almost threw the thing in the dumpster. Thankfully I called weber before I did that and they were amazing. Walked me through how to get all th pictures the need to tell me what I need to replace. When we got a list together the replaced everything under warranty. Great customer service.
