Really like the very controlled temperature . First cook was ribs and i put them on and went to work in the yard and came back when it was time to wrap them up . cooked another hour and they were done.

Grills and tastes great but…..

I have had my EX6 for about a year now. Does the actual smoking and grilling wonderfully however, even the second generation still fails to feed pellets properly. I just put in a pork butt last night and sometime through the night or early morning, the pellets failed to feed and ran out of fuel despite being filled all the way at the start of the cook. During the day I have to walk out every so often and move the pellets around so that they continue to feed into the hopper. Aside from this, the grill is phenomenal but this is frustrating.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Got this smoker because it’s a Weber and have all other Webber grilling products, gas and charcoal. Tried it out with a brisket. Go big or go home! Had some issues with updates to the grill when I was “seasoning” the grill but I think some of that was user error.
The two issues I have with the grill happened when I was cooking said brisket. 1) I got a flame out, I had notification set on the app but it didn’t register. And I lost a lot of temp. Plus it is a PITA to clean it. If I had a full grill of food, it would have been miserable, to have to remove everything. Plus all the steps to clean it? My food would have went bad before it was fixed. If you have that happen in the middle of cooking that alarm/notification should be screaming at me!!
2). Temperature probes. They worked great, but how do you get them INTO the grilling area?? If you put them in under the lid, won’t they crimp by the lid? So I had to run them in the vents in back. Saw some charing on them but the steel braid coating was good.

Other then those two issues, worked good and enjoyed the grill, can’t wait to use it some more!!

I’ve only done two cooks on this smoker so far. One was about 4 hours, the other about two hours. Both cooks went flawlessly. The smoker maintained temperature very well. I haven’t had any issues lighting but the smoker did come with 2 extra glow plugs which I appreciate. Contrary to some of the complaints about the glow plug, I’m not experiencing that issue. Glow plugs are a common issue with all smokers in my opinion. A friend has a competitor’s smoker and his glow plug went out after a year. This isn’t a deal breaker for me anyway as it’s still possible to manually light in an emergency. I love the huge cooking space. I have 3 other Weber charcoal grills. One is a performer that’s 27 years old and still going strong! Love Weber!!

So far so good ... not so happy with the app.. if you have a Alert... It should continue to go off until the operator stops it. All night cooks.
And get a flame out.. you only get i little notice.. if you miss it then your screwed..
