Totally unreliable. The burner often stops in the middle of the cooking with no apparent reason. It also has hard time to reach temperatures above 450 degrees Fahrenheit. There are multiple videos that comment on the error generated by the system. I went through the instructions, but next time I turned the grill on, the problem appears again. I feel really bad to even try to grill anything again, as most likely I will have to take the meat partially cooked and finish inside the house. It is impossible to try to use this product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Grilling has never been easier. It's like a set it and forget it. Grill warms up quickly and cooks to set temp. I think the pellet hopper is a poor design for overnight cooks as pellets don't fall as they should. I also prefer the stronger smoke profile of charcoal and wood chunks.
At the time of this post i have 4-5 sessions of grilling totalling 8-10 hrs of use.
This grill/smoker has been everything it was descibed as. Heats up fast, well built, great display and interface etc. Has many options like up to 4 probes, front and side shelves, standard handle light also works well. Pellet feed has bee flawless with very little extra ash escaping the tray.
Some room for improvements. I added a smoker approved lid gasket to help keep in heat and smoke. Cheap upgrade. Wifi connection is great but if you only use Bluetooth the range is VERY limited. I would say anything over 30' gets spotty. Grease does make its way to the drip tray but not without help after grill is cool from the included plastic scrapper. My thought is that because it shares a path with the ash... it gets sticky/hard before it flows out.
I have owned kettles, large offsets and drum smokers. I was a bit apprehensive about a pellet grill as I like working with charcoal and wood to accomplish traditional bbq flavors. With constantly having busy schedules on the weekends I like the idea of having a pellet grill to manage almost like an oven. I know the generation one models had a bad reception online however that did not deter me from purchasing another weber product. So far I have not been disappointed whatsoever. I have smoked ribs, kielbasa, whole chicken and brisket. The flavor is in my opinion very close to a traditional offset. For the effort of plugging in the unit, filing the hopper and hitting some buttons you produce a great product. I have not tried direct grilling and I did not purchase for high temp cooking. I still use my Weber Performer or Genesis for direct, high temp cooks. Love the looks of the unit too. Highly recommend if you’re in the fence.
When using Weber pellets and cleaning out the grill after each use, it is hard to beat. Consistent temp, even cook, great space. Areas in need of improvement are the feeder, too many times I have to open and manually push pellets down, the auger, not great with smaller pellets, the shutdown sequence pushes all the pellets into the box so if you don’t clean them out EVERY cook you get a big fire that ruins your next smoke.

Ours hasn’t worked correctly since we purchased it. Weber sent all new parts and the grill shorted out first time we used it. Would never buy again. Piece of junk!!!
