I have had this smoker for 3 months and I like it. I live in Wisconsin and have only used it in winter weather and it has worked great. I am extremely disappointed that the glow plug on lasted for 12 cooks! Now I know why the grill includes 3 glow plugs. The Weber Connect app is not great. It likes to give you three or four notification for every event. Temp reached; Bing, Bing, Bing. Low on Fuel; Bing, Bing, Bing. You have to cancel each Bing! Glow plug failure is my biggest concern. Have your oven ready to finish you cook!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

However, we apologize for the disappointment you are experiencing due to your glow plugs failing. We expect glow plugs to last a year or more, so this is definitely not the normal experience.

Great smoker/grill if you know how to use it

Solid build. Easy to use. Cooks well. Heats surprisingly evenly. Still prone to grease fires if you don't use a drip pan or fully clean it after a long, low and slow cook. I think that's just the sacrifice you make for better high heat grilling.

I’ve only used it once. I’ve been a charcoal grill guy but condo regulations have forced me to go electric. I was looking for brisket for my first run, but none was in stock at the 2 places close by so I chose pork belly. The challenge, about an hour in the temp starts to drop and I find out pellets have smothered the fire. So I go and clean it out, somewhat annoying and tedious, but easily accomplishable. After this, we were smoking for 6 hours!! What’s so impressive to me, #1 is the flavor produced, now some of it was my sauce but I could truly taste the smoke also. #2 it’s crazy how you can regulate the temp and also know the internal temp of the meet you’re preparing by using the probes. This was and will be a very enjoyable experience. As much as I miss my charcoal, and I still believe this is somewhat cheating. I can’t wait to get more use out of it. It was very difficult for me to not give this a 5-star rating but I wanted to stay true to the expectations when you’re dropping this kind of cash. Amazing grill!

I am very pleased with the grill. I have smoked several pork butts and the amount of smoke and taste of them all, have produced rave reviews with all my friends. I have not had any problems navigating the controls either on the grill itself nor via the phone app. The only issue, which is very minor, is the loading of the pellets in the hopper, gravity seems to be stronger between the grill housing and the hopper housing and the pellets seem to always go in between them.

Great versatility in a Weber Pellet Grill

This grill has turned out to be an awesome versatile cooking machine.. I’ve done several smokes now and they’ve all turned great.. I’ve also used as a grill for steaks, the seat has turned out great as it gets up to 500+ fairly quickly.. Also gives a great smoke flavor.. Only 2 negatives if there are any.. are it eats pellets fairly quickly, however for me the trade off is well worth it for the convenience.. The other is if you choose to use other pellets besides Weber, make sure they are very close if not exact in size in pellet size.. I have found if you mix another in with Weber it works just fine.. If you use another brand you take a chance of clogging up the auger and that doesn’t turn out well. Keep the Smokefire Ex-6 clean out after every few uses and it will be good to you.. One last caveat, you need to make sure the hopper is empty or very close to it after each use. you don’t want those pellets just sitting there till the next use..
