Haven't used it as much as I would like to but that will happen soon. I have smoked ribs for many years on different machines but I can truly say the first test run on this smoker they were the best ribs I have ever made. I was worried about wood ash being on the meat I had seen on other brands but after close inspection I found none on mine. Thanks Weber!
Shut downs cost delays, talked to Weber help and got tips on how to deal with.

It maintains a good temperature and usually works. The surface area is huge and space is not a problem, although you have to be aware that the center is going to be quite a different temperature than the sides, which is to be expected. The app is good and makes it easy to see and modify temps without going outside.
My first gripe is that it doesn't always start. (Sometimes I have to turn it back off, wait 15 minutes, remove the pellets, and try again) During a long cook all my pellets are on one side of the hopper and don't feed properly. Wanting to use this as a replacement for our awesome Weber gas grill that was old enough to drive, I didn't realize that I would always smell of smoke after using it. I refill pellets way faster and at more expense than I did gas cannisters. Gas also didn't leave any ash on the grates or food. If I had to choose again I would have bought another gas grill and not a pellet grill and just found a way to smoke the occasional brisket like that.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for being a long time Weber fan! We greatly appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with our team regarding the Smokefire EX6. Weber is constantly working on ways to improve our products and our customer experience and we are happy to pass your suggestions along. In fact, many of our updates are a direct result of consumer feedback. Our team has also reached out via email to discuss some maintenance tips with you. Thank you!
The grill itself works as advertised. I would suggest two improvements to the design. One, a drawer under the shelf on the right end, and two, a shelf attached to the legs. There are threaded anchors already installed on the legs so I might try fabricating a shelf on my own.

Heat varies wildly across the grill surface. Gets to temp incredibly quick Ash control is a bit messy.

Thank you for your feedback. It's wonderful to hear that you are enjoying your new SmokeFire EX6. We love how quickly it can go from smoking temperature to searing temperature, too! We appreciate your feedback about the temperature and ash control, and we have some suggestions.
It is important to make sure your grill is fully preheated with the lid closed before adding food. After preheating, the heat will start to even out.
When you open the lid, the SmokeFire engine will start running harder to keep the temperature up. When the lid is open, especially for extended periods of time, outside factors such as wind can redirect the flame and heat. It sounds simple, but please keep that lid closed for the best results.
It is normal to encounter ash in a wood-burning grill. You'll notice more than usual the first time your grill is used, and that is okay. We recommend cleaning the burn pot and cookbox push the ash into the ash and grease drawer with the provided Weber scraper.
We hope you'll continue using and loving your SmokeFire for years to come. Our Support team is sending you a follow-up email to make sure you have everything you need. Thanks!
This being the second generation of the smoke fire grill I assumed certain issues were a thing of the past. However my auger broke only on the third use. I also had a grease fire on the first long cook I had. Almost ruined a brisket. Good for burgers, steaks, and ribs. But don’t cook a pork butt or brisket on it.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you have had issues with your auger and grease control. We care deeply about your experience when using our products.
It is possible for pellet debris to build up in the auger, especially if the pellets being used are crumbly and stale. Fresh Weber pellets are recommended for optimum performance. We also recommend cleaning your auger after every few cooks to ensure it is clean.
When doing longer, low and slow cooks we recommend using a water pan to collect drippings. The recommended drip tray is Weber part 6416 and it can be found on our website.
Please look for an email outreach from our Support team. We'll make sure you have everything you need to get back to grilling and smoking again soon. Thank you!
