I had very high hopes for this purchase, unfortunately, I find the SmokeFire a lot of hassle to be honest. While I've had a few really good cooks with it, it's far too inconsistent, has a lot of issues (glow plug, pellet clogging, etc), and requires an absurd amount of cleaning to avoid flare ups.

Thank you for taking the time to submit your review regarding your Smokefire EX6. We are very sorry to learn about your disappointment. This is not the quality we expect from our SmokeFire grill. Our Smokefire is designed to be easy to maintain and regular maintenance is essential and recommended for all our grills. Regarding the glow plug, this is an unusual occurrence since we expect glow plugs to last for at least a year.
Our team has reached out via email to assist you further with your concerns with the glow plug and the pellets clogging. We want to be sure you have the best grilling experience with your grill.
I really enjoy this pellet grill. It works great low and slow as well as grilling at high temps. I love that you get access to the actual flames when grilling. It is easy to use and the cleanup has been easy as well. I recommend it.
The SmokeFire EX6 works great if your looking for a smoker, it holds one 20lb bag of pellets. I was able to smoke a beef brisket for 13 hours with no problems. At 225 you'll get 13 hours from a 20lb bag. At the higher temps like 500 for grilling it drops down to about 4 to 5 hours of cooking time per 20lb bag. The smoker is built like a tank, I wish the same could be said for the add-on side tray. There's just to much give, so you have to watch how you use it. The add-on front tray doesn't have the same problem due to the extra cross support. To bad Weber didn't do the same thing for the side tray. Everything I've cooked on the SmokeFire taste great. I even made a batch of chili and smoked it for 30 minutes in a small turkey pan. OMG! Now my biggest problem is what to do with my Weber Genesis. In the end this smoker rocks!
First off, I am a Weber loyalist. I own an Original Premium Kettle, an 18" WSM, an E-310 LP and now the smokefire. In about a month of ownership, I've attempted brisket, chicken wings, meatloaf, burgers, chicken burgers and butt. The smokefire does a great job of smoke flavor. I have had no issues with pellets feeding and holding temp. It does require much more maintenance than all of my other cookers. It requires cleaning after nearly EVERY cook. If you are a bit lazy in the cleaning department, be aware you're much more likely to run into grease fires, etc. For example, I cooked ONE batch of burgers and the following day did a meatloaf without any cleanup. The meatloaf started a grease fire. If you're willing to ensure you keep this cooker clean it'll put out fantastic food!
Overall rating would have been 4 stars however the price paid for my SmokeFire Grill validates a higher rating. I am extremely pleased with my new Grill especially as it relates to cooking my favorite meat; prime rib. The smoke flavor compliments the prime rib perfectly even when using lower temps to cook the roast. I also pushed my grill to the limit on two occasions, loading it up with pork butts and both times the pulled pork tasted just like whole roasted pig. The only drawback is that I can't say the grill is as reliable as charcoal. A sudden loss of power and the grill makes you go through a complete cool down process before you can resume cooking. I've also had some challenges with the glowstick bracket. Fortunately Weber support was great as it relates to replacement parts.
This is a great smoker. Only complaint is hopper on the back side isn’t the easiest thing to fill but overall I would buy this again and wouldn’t even consider the competition.
I expected better from Weber. I regularly use the Kettle my parents bought when I was born - 68 years ago. I have multiple Bullets that have smoked gazillions of pounds of proteins over the years, and I see no reason they won't outlive me. The SmokeFire, on the other hand, has been a disappointment. Very inconsistent cooking, with poor heat distribution, particularly at higher temps. Display hard to see especially on sunny (and cold) days. Probes WAAAY inaccurate (checked against calibrated digital thermometers across a wide variety of cook settings). No storage capability (particularly for fuses, igniters, probes, tools); an add-on drawer below the ash box or under the shelf on the right would be great (hmmmm, business opportunity?).
Blown fuse put me out of action a few weeks ago, so I called support. When I told them it wouldn't power up, their immediate response was to order me a new power cord. They never had me do any troubleshooting. After the call, I dragged out my multimeter to check my existing cord (it was OK), then pulled and tested the fuse (which ended up being the problem). I called support again to request replacement fuses. I tried to find them locally with no success; the single fuse Weber shipped me worked, but it would have been better if they shipped a few more because I expect they'll be needed in the future. (I've now bought a bunch for future use - thank you, Internet!).
The SmokeFire was intended to replace my falling-apart 15 year old gas grill and my 14 year old Weber Bullet. Both were low-tech solutions that worked as intended; the high-tech SmokeFire, doesn't match up to them. I'm very glad I kept the Bullet (and wish I hadn't tossed the grill).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have been pretty happy with my grill for the past 1.25yrs. I don't use the wifi feature but I do appreciate that you can smoke low or heat the grill up really hot for those times you want to grill burgers or sear some meat. I recently found that the auger in mine failed. I think it was related to some jam, IDK. Anyhow, I just called Support and they are sending me a new auger and feeder tray free of charge. Even though I never registered my grill. Pretty cool.
I would recommend this to a friend!
