Great Pellet Smoker

I've had the Smokefire EX6 (2nd generation) grill for approximately a week and have used it almost every day since, have made smoked lamb, wings, pork belly, salmon, burgers and chicken. I wanted to try as many proteins as possible to test the results of the pellet grill. I am a great fan of Weber products and I must say I'm extremely pleased with this new addition to my outdoor cooking arsenal.. Every thing has come out to perfection..
This is my first pellet grill. I've enjoyed it so far. Slow cooking has been a breeze and the temperature control has been great. I've followed the cleaning instructions and haven't had a problem.
The only area that I haven't figured out is how to do great searing on it. I had a side sear burner on my previous grill and believe that I can do it here, but I'm still learning on the best ways to do so.
I've got a 10 year old Performer (propane ignition model), a 20 year old Genesis Silver B, and a ~15 year old Smokey Mountain Cooker. The EX6 has taken the throne as king of the back yard. The others still have their place, but the EX6 is just so convenient and produces such good flavor it's hard not to use.
In short, the SmokeFire has been amazing. Anything from an overnight pork shoulder to some home made flatbread pizzas it's exceled at all tasks. There is a slight learning curve but each thing I cook turns out better than the previous attempt, just takes a little tweaking to my typical grilling/smoking recipes.
I haven't noticed any drastic temperature differences between left and right side of the grill except when running it very hot. When running 400+ the areas directly to the sides of the fire pot will be a decent amount hotter than the rest of the grill but that's easy enough to work around.
Taking a nasty tumble after being hit by an overzealous Greyhound (and smashing up the back of the hopper in the process) didn't slow it down one bit! I wish it wasn't mangled, but performance is unaffected.
And as a final note. In over a dozen cooks so far I have not experienced any of the problems I had read about. I do make sure to empty the hopper after every other cook and vacuum out the barrel, fire pot, and auger (what I can reach) after every ~15 hours of cook time or 3 cooks, whichever comes first.
I really like this grill. The ability to reverse sear with the smoke boost feature then turn it up to 500+ is awesome. There are some spots on the grate that are cooler than others at high temps but it’s manageable. It’s definitely a game-changer. If Weber can figure out how to get a more even sear temp throughout the entire surface, there would be zero competition.

Hi! Congratulations on your new Smokefire EX6 grill! We are excited to hear you are enjoying the smokeboost feature. It is unfortunate to hear of the uneven heating, in regards to this we do suggest keeping the lid closed when preheating and only open the lid when turning the food. Our support team will also reach out via email with more helpful tips for even heating. Thank you!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a Month ago, first time with a pellet Grill. And I must say, instantly impressed. I choose Weber over some of the other leading Brands because of their devotion to a solid product and integrated design features, and they didn't disappoint. First usage was an 18hr Brisket Cook. Needless to say, my entire neighbor is asking what's for dinner and I'm more fearful ill eat too much as a result. The Features allow for a solid cook that will leave your mouth watering. Webers Technological advances make Grilling a breeze, and with Bluetooth features to monitor your cook, you'll never have to worry about over or under cooking ever again. Absolutely one satisfied customer that will now be a Weber Lifer. GREAT GRILL!!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the grill everything so far came out perfect that I made two complaints I have though. My first complaint is the diffuser weldment paint is peeling off I guess from the heat. Second complain is in the grease tray closure being the drip pan it gets burnt from the ash of the grill. Besides that the grill works great. I hope they add a firmware update though cause sometimes the grill controls have a delay. Never the less, it’s a great grill, and I hope they add more flavors of wood.
