The grill is very large, and maintains temp very well for a large smoker. The super smoke feature does give it extra smoke flavor. At 600 degrees, it does cook a steak well, however, if you like a charred outside, it won't do that for you. We've cooked anything from brisket to enchiladas on here. The wi-fi feature works great. No regrets in buying this.

I like this grill about as much as I like any pellet grill. Its a compromise trading absolute best flavor away in return for just good flavor and much extra convenance and the ability to sleep a little on overnight cooks. The grease system clogs and needs cleaned after every fatty cook. The ash and grease clog the bottom. Cook again at medium to high heat with out cleaning and you will have a grease fire. Its picky about pellets. Tried some great tasting knotty wood plum pellets and it bridged constantly. Used lumber jack char-hickory and it fed much better. This unit seems to add more smoke flavor than other pellet grills I have used. So I like that. But it does not have the clean great smoke of a stick burner. Webewr needs to improve grease management and pellet feeding. But this unit does hold a ton of food, with results at least as good as other pellet grills.

The Assembly directions needs improved the fire dampener needs a hole drilled on it for the pallets falling through and the shut down function needs to be able to actually turn the grill off instead of keep beeping at somebody to turn the power off

Keep Em Clean

In two weeks, I will have had my Ex6 for one year and could not be more satisfied. After two shutdowns shortly after purchasing, I was determined to find a cure or get a refund. I soon found that keeping this pit clean, regularly, is a fix for many of this pit woes. It's a machine and they all malfunction or break down sooner or later, and what works for one doesn't always work for all. I like to figure things out and this pit was no different, especially after waiting for Weber to come out with a pellet of this size and revamping. Woods produce "creosol", and a by product of creosol is a sticky residue. It affects every part of this grill, especially the pellet chute. Early on I learned from my flameouts that performing regular cleaning has eliminated any flameouts until the other day when I did a 16 hour brisket and got a flameout at hour 13. But you know what, I hadn't did my regular 3 cook cleaning and could only blame myself. I do a minor cleaning every 3 cooks and a major every 6-7. I focus on the chute with a thin spray of cooking oil, preferably Pam, wiping off any excess to prevent a fire but just enough to keep that chute nice and slippery. I noticed early on that when I did have a flameout, there was a pile out pellets all over the igniter box. Curious as to why, I did nothing but remove the excess pellets and refired the pit. The pellets started boiling up on the chute from friction buildup, and after enough weigh over came the friction, they all dropped together covering the igniter box completely and causing a shut down. The exact thing occurred on that brisket cook the other night. So do I blame Weber for something they couldn't prevent if they tried, NO. After a deep clean, it fired right back up and performed flawlessly next cook. I use a mopped on base during all my cooks, so my accumulation of dried up sauce build up is probably a lot more than the spray bottle cooks. The plastic scrapper that came with the pit is an excellent utensil for the job. Keeping the vents open and clear adjacent to the burn box is critical to constant temps, so be mindful, especially if you're a mopper like me. I purchased the cover with the pit to prevent direct rain on the electronics if it's something you haven't considered. Water and electronics, not a good mix. Blame Weber, I just don't think so. if you can afford this pit, you can afford the cover or at the least, a piece of plastic. I am still learning my pit and the different flavors of pellets of different foods, searing and reverse searing, precise hot spots, you name it. I think it's just part of the cooking experience, and yes, there are recipes you should be able to duplicate without even thinking about it, but as I said, these are machines that need maintenance and upkeep. For me, cleaning has been my best friend for consistent, uninterrupted cooks thus far. I'm 67 years old and have had Webers from my first pit purchase nearly 50 years ago, and haven't been disappointed yet, especially with their patented baked on finishes, enabling years of service of all their pits. I ain't rich, and for me and a pit, this was a luxury purchase I budgeted and waited on Weber to fix their glitches from their initial pellet introduction. I am totally content, the size, the performance, the exterior and it's looks, everything I wanted for such an investment and expectation from Weber. Hopefully, I may have mentioned something that will make your cooking more enjoyable and less frustrating and always remember, Weber has one of the best warranties in the business if all other fails and their customer service is outstanding. Good cooking fellow Q'ers!

We purchased the EX6 Smokefire and could not be happier. The grill is easy to use, easy to clean and the food tastes awesome. I was a little concerned that it would be complicated to use, but it couldn't be easier.

The grill works great when wants. I purchased a gen 2 with hopes that the pellet feeding issues were in the past. That is not the case, if I dont give the pellets a good stir so they feed properly, i get the drop in temp notification everytime. Then the shut down process takes 15 min even if the it doesn't ignite due to pellet interlock
The food is fantastic one it get it to work properly, which is only about 20% of the time
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
