This grill does what it supposed to do. From low & slow to hot and fast works great. I am a hands on guy, 71yr., and do not use the soft ware. The grill holds the temp that is set which makes it easy to accomplish the desired results. The fit and finish is superior to Brand X which my daughter has (about 18 mo.) and has quit, something in soft ware she says.

Love this Grill I have two other Weber Grills and they have been Rock steady for 20 years a Genesis and a kettle. If I could only keep one it would be the smoke fire.
my only complaint is the side shelf and front shelf are a thin gauge stainless they should be beefier like my Genesis. The Cover is a bit thin as well. I have not used the grill in Winter yet so not sure how it will perform yet. I have cooked low and slow and high heat and in between and no problems. Getting used to dumping pellets in the back is a challenge but I like the design. Way to go Weber with this design on the Pellet grill a nice departure from the typical pellet grill design.

Terrific new grill!

I fired up our new EX6 yesterday and slow cooked six racks of baby back ribs. Fantastic results - tender, juicy and very flavorful. I used the apple wood pellets and mustard and spice rub and finished with a Carolina mustard sauce - best ribs I've ever done. Everyone was happy and full of compliments. Temperature control was perfect, always coming back to set point quickly after lifting the lid hourly to spray. At 235 F, the ribs were done in a little over five hours with another twenty minutes for saucing. I used two aluminum pans with water and apple cider vinegar in the bottom of the grill to aid in moisture retention and cleanup as suggested by another reviewer and it worked well enough that I will continue to use them. Cleanup was a breeze and I experienced no pellet jams or flare ups. Nice job, Weber! I would recommend the Smokefire for anyone interested in low and slow smoking. Next up - a prime brisket. Assembly went quite well considering the minimal instructions (no photos, just drawings). The screw holes on the rear access panel didn't quite line up, but otherwise everything fit together well. I added the folding side and front shelves and they assembled easily also. Packaging was well thought out. My only complaint is that I'm having trouble getting rid of that huge box (it's about 5' x 3' x 3') filled with cardboard.

Bought the Weber SmokeFire , the first one did not work. Between TrueValu and Weber it was replaced basically within two days. I have cooked Steaks that turned out perfect, High and fast, Ribs with a six hour cook turned out as if I cooked them on my large smoker. This grill does it all with ease.

So far I am very pleased with my purchase of the SmokeFire EX6 2nd Gen. The quality is outstanding, holds temp perfectly, and the app. works seamlessly. I have done baby backs, chicken leg quarters, wings, and steaks so far and it can go low and slow and get to the 550-600 to sear. Heat up is as quick as my propane grill...after one month in I couldn't be happier.

Using ny new SmokeFire EX6 (2nd Gen)

Recently purchased the SmokeFire EX6 and have grilled steaks and chicken and smoke ribs and brisket. It has been very easy to use and regulates the temperature very well. During the brisket smoke th system "froze" and though everything was reading the set temperature, they smoker was actually shut down. Could not get any of the controls to work. After powering off, and back on, everything worked fine and the brisket came out great. Though the 2nd Gen has improved the pellet feed, the pellets still seem to not flow freely down tooth auger. Just had to make sure that I kept pushing the pellets to fill the void every three to four hours. These seem to be minor issues and I am very happy with the performance of the SmokeFire. Makes grill and smoking very simple. The phone app is very handy and if you use the cook programs it take most of the guess work out of cooking. So far I am very happy with the investment I made in this smoker. looking forward to grill and smoking many more items.
