[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fast start-up, not a lot of bloat-ware preinstalled. Clear, sharp, 17' screen. Excellent for web browsing, light word processing and spreadsheet prep/review for a very affordable price.
Only giving 4-stars due to issues with the touchpad freezing up during use. Seems to be a standard issue on the IdeaPad 3. Have not found a solution as of yet, even after updating the BIOS and checking for new drivers. Work around is to use a USB wireless mouse.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great computer rendered unusable by coil whine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great specs, great screen, great keyboard, all of it wasted effort, because of high pitched coil whine.
It always amazing me that companies put so much work into making good computers, only to ruin it all by using substandard parts, in particular the inductive coils that end up producing a high pitched whine.
This mistake exists in all brands of computers, even Apple's.
They try to save a fraction of a cent on a coil part and they end up making the computer unusable because it squeals at a high frequency all the time.
Besides this problem, which may have been particular to my unit, the dark blue color of the enclosure was very ugly. Gray is much better.
