Ridiculous Amount of Storage, Okay Speeds

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a sleek looking, relatively quiet external hard drive that has ample amounts of storage to back up all of your main drives.
Using the included cable, I plugged this into the USB 3 port on my PC and the drive was immediately recognized. It does have a "Start here" file on it that basically registers the product and tries to get you to install Seagate's backup/file system. I used my own backup software for this drive and generally reached speeds in the 260-290 Mbps range, though it did bog down to about 100 Mbps after an hour. I can't totally blame that on the drive as it may be my software since the drive was sustaining higher speeds for quite some time.
The drive sounds like a quiet PC fan running. You can barely hear it over ambient noise unless you're two feet away from it or really searching for it audibly. The box contains the drive, a fat wall power adapter (with a bunch of plugs for many different regions), and a USB-A male cable to plug into your PC. The drive also has a USB-C port, but no cable is supplied. For looks, it's simple with clean lines and a single, small, white LED on the front for status-- so this won't be lighting up your bedroom and night if you're using it there.
For the price point and insane amount of storage, I think this is a good value. It's nothing super fancy or an SSD with ridiculous speeds, but it is a good looking drive that has so far performed admirably. I think it's a solid 4 out of 5 stars. it works great for me as another backup drive that backup a few times a year and store in a separate location from my PC in the event of a fire, theft, etc.

superb storage

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Decided to upgrade from an 500GB hard drive and decided to pick up the 8TB external hard drive. I have to say I was concerned how my computer would work giving its an older system.
I have to say I am impressed works great. Upon opening I found it interesting that it came with a power supply you can switch out depending where you are from or going.
I transfered all my information to this drive and now have plenty of room to grow. The setup was easy as well. I know the bare basics when doing computer things and this was easy to setup.

Lots Of Storage!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first external hard drive. This hard drive has a nice slim design to it, its not to big and doesn't take up to much room. It has two different types of ports on it to charge devices. It also comes with a bunch of different adapter plugs, which are good for someone who travels. They easily slide in and out to be switched out. The set up for this wasn't too bad. I first used the paper instructions that came with it then followed the ones on my computer. I really like how much memory this has. I take lots of pictures and videos of my kids. I feel better knowing that I have them backed up on another source so that I don't loose them!

Lots of space!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently received the Seagate One Touch 8TB with Hub External Hard Drive. Upon receiving it, I thought about the size and weight of the package. The drive is compact, but it has a little weight to it. I was impressed with the instructions and easy use.
This desktop hard drive holds so much. I was able to load videos, pictures, and some files that were taking up space on my computers. The storage capacity on the Seagate was barely touched with the stuff I put on it. The charging ports made it simple for me to charge other devices while working.
For now, the Seagate One Touch 8TB with Hub External Hard Drive helps out a great deal. I hope it will last for all my storage needs.

Nice drive overall

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m happy with this drive, but it could be improved upon. Setup was very simple, and it includes free trials of a few different programs. It also includes power adapters for many different countries. This hub does need power unlike other external drives. It also has a fan inside to keep it cool, so it isn’t silent. If it was in a cabinet or something I don't think you would hear it though. Transfer speed is decent. It should be noted though, there is only about 7.27 TB of useable space. This is with almost all drives, but it is a bit disappointing. The overall package is pretty slim, and includes a USB 3.0 and a USB C on the front to connect additional devices. Overall it’s a pretty good drive

A TANK, that's small and easy to use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a TANK. With this, I feel secure that all the pictures and files for my business are safe and exactly where I need them to be. It's easy to install and easy to use. It is a bit heavy; if traveling, it wouldn't weigh down your bag, but if walking for awhile you'd feel it. But if it's to stay on your desk, it's small, inconspicuous and doesn't take up much room.
In terms of extras, I like how it also comes with different international plugs so you won't need to find an adapter when traveling. But it would be helpful if the different plugs were labeled (there are like 7 different plugs). As a creative who travels, this is great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] this is a great product and 8 tb storage for personal life is more than enough storage. file transfer is so quick, as tested with a half gb file transfer that took 10 seconds. a couple gb file size may take a few more min but fast nonetheless. there is a fan on it too that turns on automatically which is great to keep performance and longevity of the device.

Automatic backups, USB 3.0 speeds & charging ports

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had internal Seagare hard drives for years. They’re best in class for reliability and speed. Over those years, I’ve built up a ton of photos I want to back up. This drive is perfect to do that. It’s USB 3.0 so backups fly. Even better, setting up automatic backups is a breeze. Mine run daily so I’ll never lose a thing. As a bonus I’ve never seen anywhere else, this drive has two charging ports on the front to help keep your phone charged with one less power adapter. Very slick. As always, I’m beyond impressed with Seagate!
