not working well

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited to try the new Ring Stick Up Cam Battery since it doesn't have to be plugged in. It keeps having to reactivate to connect to the app and doesn't even pick up my presence when I walk in front of it. However, it did pick up a dog that was in the way. I hope it gets better.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

1. Motion Frequency is set improperly for your device and environment. Here is a helpful support article elaborating on this feature: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003477106-Optimizing-Motion-Alerts-with-Motion-Frequency. Please ensure you have it set to Frequently in order to receive any and all movements.

2. You may not have the Smart Alerts setting toggled on. You can learn how to refine your motion alerts here: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360032947972-Refining-Your-Motion-Alerts-for-People-and-Other-Motions.

Great for Keeping an Eye on Things!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received my new Ring stick up battery camera last week to install it at our cabin in the Great Smoky Mountains during our annual Thanksgiving trip. I have noticed and increase in bear activity this year and this will be the perfect way for me to keep an eye on things while I can’t be there. Plus I may get some awesome bear footage. First thing I noticed about this is how easy it was to set up. I pretty much just downloaded the app and scanned the barcode on the camera and then followed the directions. Overall took me no more than 5 minutes. I set my camera to outdoor and used the mounting kit provided to mount it to the wall on the side of the porch. I also purchased the solar panel charger separately since I do not live there year round and won’t always be able to manually charge the battery. I have not yet had a chance to see how it would hold up in weather so I mounted it under the awning to be safe. I was very impressed with how clear the picture is on my phone. I have an newer smart phone so not sure if that makes any difference. The night vision is a clear picture too. I am looking forward to the footage I may catch. Hopefully, I will be able to provide an update with a picture of a Smoky Mountain black bear!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] To start with I am not very techy at all and am pleasantly surprised at my ability to both install and use the Stick Up Cam. Installation took under an hour for me and most of that time was updating my phone a bit to be able to receive notifications. Notifications are coming through clearly and quickly on my phone. The picture is clear as well as the video and I am thrilled that it has the ability to handle voices and other noises. The picture and video are clear to make out which is a huge plus for me. The range that the camera catches is more than others I have looked at too. It is made well and I expect it will be able to hold up to the elements here. An important note I think is that I have an entirely different security system but did not have an outdoor camera with it. This camera is stand alone without the rest of the ring system and is really a great addition to what I already have in place. I feel like my home is now more secure and I feel more protected than ever.

Nice addition to the Ring family

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very easy to set up and use battery-powered security camera. No additional SD card is required like other cams. Set up is as easy as downloading an app and scanning a QR code. Battery life is great and the quality is good. You can mount ot to a surface, or keep it portable. Motion detection works great.
It integrates well with all the Ring products and Neighbors App. The camera wants to be associated with an address and really empasizes how it should be used as part of an integrated network, which is great if home protection and neighborhood saftey are you number one concerns.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had this up for about a week now and live it. The alerts on the phone are nice to let you know what’s going on when you are not home. And with this being “delivery season” with Christmas shopping it’s nice to know when packages are left. We are planning to add another camera to our back door as well

Easy set-up and very versatile

I have been looking for an alternate system which is easier to use and can be used inside and out. I ordered the Ring Stick-up and have been very pleased with this unit. I'm still learning everything it can do, however the set-up was extremely easy and the on-line tutorial is comprehensive. I've used this unit in two different locations so far, and I'm seriously considering using Ring for my security system due to how easy it is to use and the multiple functions it offers. The Stick-Up Cam Battery unit makes it very versatile for use in any location!

Quick and easy installation without wires.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have become empty nesters and thus the house is often “unwatched” while we are at work, away for business or vacation. As a result, I decided to get the Ring Stick Up Battery Security Camera. I chose this version because I could hang it up anywhere without needing a wired hook up. The camera came with a bracket and screws and was very easy to install. Before mounting the camera, I first got the Ring app so that I could make sure it worked before putting all the time and effort installing it! Having the app prior to installation also allowed me to move the camera around to see what the best angle for optimum results was. Once I was able to determine that, I affixed the bracket onto the side of my house. This camera gives me a full clear, view of my backyard both in the daytime and evenings and the app alerts me when there is any motion in the yard. The camera records up to 1-minute video and it is saved until I delete it. The only part I am having problems with is being able communicate using the app. Both my voice and the voice of the person outside my home, is muffled. Thus, if I wanted to alert someone that I see them in my yard, it may not be clearly communicated. Otherwise, I am happy with the ease of installation, the clarity of the video, and the amount of square footage it covers. The camera comes with rechargeable battery which took about 12 hours to charge before initial use. The app shows the battery life and because I have not had the camera long enough, I do not know how long the battery will last before it needs recharging. I highly recommend this camera because it does not need to be wired, you can have peace of mind while away from home and the easy to use app with saved video recordings.
