Wow I'm impressed!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This camera has surprised me! We've been using a different well advertised camera system, but I think we might change over. The optional service and backup is much less expensive for this unit. The battery life is phenomenal, it's been installed a month and only had to charge once so far. Picture is great. The sensitivity for alerts is a bit challenging as it's close to a street.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Picture

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Set up camera to keep an eye on my villa entry/dining/living/kitchen area. Covers the entire area with a crystal clear picture. Set up was easy although I had to stop to charge the battery (instructions implied this was optional). Once this was done, it went live very quickly. The small size is great for placing on a shelf.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using the Ring camera for over a month now. The included directions were clear and concise. Set up was easy and quick. The app is easy to navigate. This camera affords me peace of mind. The picture and audio is pretty clear and doesn't have any static to it. Does not lag or skip. I will buy more for the back door and garage.

Great features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Ring stick up cam battery is easy to set up using your smart phone or tablet. It has nice features like live view, video recording and it is motion activated. I like that you can place it just about anywhere because you dont have to plug it in. It also has a solar charger option so you dont have to worry about the battery going dead.

Easy set-up but it has issues.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is really easy to set up. Mount the device, pop in the battery and follow the instructions on the app. If you mount it upside down hanging from your eaves, the image is upside down without any option to flip it over. It's not a huge issue but it's annoying and every other brand has this option. It doesn't have as many motion capture zones as my Ring doorbell so in order to get all the areas I want to see, I'm also getting a lot of trees which constantly trigger the motion activation every time the wind blows. At this rate my battery isn't going to last very long at all. I turned off motion notifications. I think this device is best used to monitor live feed. You have to pay for a subscription if you want any of the footage saved for later viewing. Even if you already pay for a subscription for a different ring device like a doorbell, you have to pay more for each device. The picture is clear during the day but hard to distinguish at night. I also have issues with condensation fogging up the lens at night. I'd recommend using this indoors or using the plug-in version if you have a power source nearby. For me, this didn't really meet my needs.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

To reduce motion from your trees, and to improve accuracy, please enable Advanced Motion Detection with your Motion Settings. This type of motion detection allows for a more dynamic form of motion zones to be used. Here is an article that goes into more detail:

Works As Advertised

But, it is working, and has worked from about two weeks. As long as the video is clear and I can see it on my phone, I'm happy.

Keeping an eye on things

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very happy with the stick up cam. It was easy to set up and sync to our phones. I tried it in a few spots before we chose to mount it on our porch. I have ordered the optional solar panel so we don’t have to recharge the battery. Recharging the battery is fairly easy though. It has great features. Motion detector works well. I like that you can set the perimeters to suit your needs. We have animals so inside, it was always going off. Outside, it goes off within where we set it. I like that you can set up in your neighborhood and communicate with neighbors if there is a threat. This is a great starter camera for your home.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We wanted this camera for the exterior of our home. Once we charged the battery pack and installed the camera, we were excited for the results. However, our internet modem is not sending a strong enough signal to the camera for it to actually work. I have ordered a booster for our internet modem and once that is installed, I will update this review.

So long as there aren't any underlying wifi issues, you should trust that this device will remain connected and accessible for peace of mind. Please know that we are here to help find a solution.

In most cases, a wifi connection can be improved by relocating the router. Selecting an area that is more central to the home allows the signal to flow more effectively throughout the area. For example, a tabletop located in the living room, free of other electronics and clutter, is a great place to start.

For those who are not able to move the router, you can consider using a wifi extender such as a Ring Chime Pro. Wifi extenders help bring your wifi signal to areas of the home that are too far from the router.
