No footrest!

This high chair does not have a footrest. The photo is misleading. Foot rests are safest when your baby starts solids, so for this price you would think the company would have all possible safety features! I’m a new mom and didn’t realize this until too late. Beware!
I liked the previous chair more for the magnetic board and had better legs, but this one is bigger for our baby. If you can you may return to the magnetic board - it's way better.
I would recommend this to a friend!

A downgrade from the original..

As someone who owns literally every 4moms product, I can honestly say that this high chair does not live up to their standard. I owned the original for baby #1, and was excited to see a newer model on the market for baby #2. I loved pretty much everything about the original, except that it didn’t recline. I decided to purchase this model since 4moms introduced the recline feature. Here are my thoughts: I still love the wipeability of the seat and that there is no fabric. I like the new recline feature so I can use this for baby from infancy. I can’t say that I miss the magnetic tray top as my baby was strong enough to pull her magnetic bowls off of it around 5/6 months anyway. I like the small footprint of the chair. HOWEVER - I do not like the new plastic material the legs are made out of. It doesn’t feel quite as sturdy as its metal predecessor, and unfortunately I found after only a couple days of use that it STAINS EASILY. My daughter spilled popsicle on the leg and 10 mins later when I tried to clean it off, it had already stained. Even using bleach, alcohol, and magic eraser to try to clean it to no avail. This was not an issue with the original chair, and I don’t see how this made it past QC. The chair as a whole is just noticeably cheaper and a downgrade from the original and at the same price point. If 4moms would have kept the original foundation and just added the recline feature (and maybe a footrest) this would be the perfect chair, something for them to consider for a future model.

Sleek and functional for many stages
on October 30, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this high chair from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I had researched high chairs significantly, and i was excited to the updated 4moms Connect high chair. It is sleek, easy to use, and easy to clean. I was able to use the chair both in the reclined infant mode as well as the vertical stage two with tray with my five month old.
The company seems to have incorporated a lot of the user feedback from the previous version and made the tray attachment mechanism more secure. As a mom of a very kick-prone kiddo, the two part squeeze is secure and really easy to operate with one hand and feels less possible to kick off. The tray is lightweight (maybe more so now that they removed the surface magnets?) and works for both left and right one-handed operation—helpful depending on which hip you have the kiddo on. I also appreciated the tray’s adjustable depth feature so food is less likely to slid in between the tray and bib. The liner and all surfaces are smooth with little texture so suction plates attach well, and the few crevices makes wiping up really simple. My dishwasher top shelf doesn’t have the height to vertically accommodate the removable plastic liner, but it’s so easy to sponge clean I don’t really miss that feature.
The chair has a big footprint, but no more than many others on the market. And, it feels very stable and unable to tip. It slides perfectly under my kitchen waterfall counter height, and the height adjustment is easy to use and quickly get the height from counter to table height. My kiddo really liked sliding up to the table to join breakfast at table height instead of in our laps.
The recline setting is nice for allowing the kiddo to give themselves their bottle or to bottle feed away from your lap. I also use it to keep her chill while i trim her little dagger fingernails. Combo feeding and manicure chair!
My two suggestions for improvement are the chair’s safety clasp and lack of footrest. The clasp has multiple grooves that have to align perfectly and that can be tough while accommodating a squirmy kiddo. I would love to see a magnetic clasp on this chair like I have used on mid-range strollers. And, when we get to toddler stage and remove the center post, I am probably going to add a strap around the base to serve as a footrest in order to keep hip development on track. It there was a way to incorporate a footrest/later attachment, that would be great.
This feels like a quality product that I will be able to use for many years and would last through multiple kiddos. It goes with our contemporary decor well, and all parts are easy to clean with a sponge/wet cloth. The one-handed tray is fantastic and makes mealtime with a small kiddo easier.

Why’d they change the design?!
on January 24, 2023

We bought this thinking it would be the same as the ones our friends had (and love), without realizing the design had changed. I hate that there’s no longer a foot rest, and the four feet are so flimsy and I sturdy compared to the previous design. It’s very obvious that the new one is much more cheaply made… which is especially disappointing since they’re charging the same for it! I wish I would’ve realized it sooner so I could’ve returned it. But I highly recommend against this product now!

Would not recommend

We’re going to end up getting a different high chair. My son just turned a year, and it’s been fine, but he sometimes kicks the tray off. The one hand grip is great and all, but he just has to get his little foot behind the handle and it goes flying. There also isn’t a foot rest. We unfortunately will be repurchasing something else.

So frustrating

The amount of times the tray ends up on the floor is frustrating. The squeeze handle is a flawed design. He kicks the tray off all the time. There also should be a foot rest?? Not sure why your design team would take it away.

I’d like to assist you and learn more about your experience. It doesn’t appear that you’ve been in contact with our Customer Success team, so please reach out to us directly at support@4moms.com.
Please note, the tray is not designed to hold the child in the chair, and the five-point harness should always be used.
The quality of 4Moms has gone downhill. I have the original highchair and needed a second and hate it. So cheaply made and doesn’t have the same great features as the original, like the ladder to climb up for toddlers. Hoping to return.
