The laptop was very easy to order and i was able to configure the laptop like i needed it and i was very impressed when we received the laptop in less than a week with custom configuration . The laptop was easy to setup and loaded all our software without issue. Very nice laptop and very fast. Graphics are beautiful and we are very satisfied with the laptop. I was very happy with the price as well.

The webcam privacy shutter is horrible. Did the people who designed it even try to use it?

Truly a powerhouse

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I decided to standardize on these for our DSP programmers, and it was definitely the right choice.
Gone are the days of broken Ethernet adapters, USB hubs, and running out of ports.
The only downsides are the weight and the battery life (which are probably unavoidable, given the hardware spec) - it just would be nice to get a 2-hour charge once in a while.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Spent several months looking at new laptops. The ThinkPad P17 by far was the best laptop with more options that anyone else and delivered a couple days after ordering.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I paid a buttload of money for a laptop workstation . . . and the thing manages to feed me a negative experience several times a day. The keyboard backlight setting does not stay on and defaults to off constantly. There are several ways in software and via the keyboard itself to turn the backlight on and off; none of them manage to change the setting in a lasting way. Always I am having to go into the settings and turn the keyboard backlight back on. For an experience that I paid a lot of money for, to be an experience of regular dissatisfaction . . . is dissatisfying.
I am also having a problem with video playback in Chrome browser, that may not be the computer's fault. There is a lot to like about this computer. I like that it manages to cool itself with a fan sound that is "not bad", most laptop computers I have had in the past 5+ years, sourd like jet engines taking off. One was good, it usually made almost no fan noise. This computer . . . it makes fan noise, but not all that much, 7.5 on a scale of 0 to 10, I give it for quietness. Pretty good.
But having a "basics not taken care of" problem on an "elite" product, is a big problem with me. I pretty much feel like if I wanted to have problems with the basic function of a device I could pay 5x less for crap and expect the result and not be bitter about it. I pay lots of money for experiences _EXACTLY SPECIFICALLY SO I DO NOT HAVE LITTLE ANNOYING PROBLEMS with the basic stuff_!
