[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a previous T540p owner, this model was a safe bet for me to acquire when my T540p died after 6 years. Numerous software updates precluded use of the P15v straight out of the box. MAJOR FLAW: this won't charge via USB-C plugged into a Lenovo ThinkPad Universal USB-C Dock - dock model 40AY0090.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love it! It is very fast and an up-to-date machine. I love the number pad on the side. I love that my hands sit comfortably on the keyboard. The finger print reader works very well. I have used many Lenovo Thinkpads that I really liked over the last 15 years and this is by far the best one!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this laptop for four weeks and have been mostly satisfied; I purchased two of the same for a small startup business. First of all, the customer service rep that I spoke with about my small business order prior to finalizing was exceptionally helpful, so 5 stars for customer service. Once I received the laptops, we were in the mode of having a thousand things going on at once, so both laptops had a moment where we needed to pause the setup, which caused a lot of problems and forced us to wipe the computers and reload Windows (which seems crazy since it was brand-new). So lesson learned: don't start the setup unless you're dedicated to finishing it in one sitting. Once we were able to get through the setup and get into the computers, things have been running smoothly and we're enjoying the laptops. Excellent size and connects with a docking station, so we're using them with multiple screens. We will travel for work, so the weight is reasonable and should have no issues needing to carry them around. When I'm running several high-process programs (AutoCAD, Adobe programs, etc.) I notice the fan runs and it seems to be working extra hard, so hopefully that is not an issue moving forward.
