First, I'd like to talk about the runtime speed. Running high intensity programs is easy and doable with this computer. My only qualm with it has been that the computer heats up fast if you are using high intensity GPU programs. In addition to this, the computer's finger print reading scanner is fairly inconsistent. It only reads my finger correctly about 50% of the time. This might bother some people, but I do not get upset by it. The weight of this computer is just as you would suspect. The laptop design is sleek and beautiful. The barely noticeable and work very well. I have only used this with the default GPU I have installed instead of my NVIDIA. The next important topic is battery life. If you aren't highly GPU intensive program and are using browsers or chat apps only, then the computer lasts about 5-6 hours, which is really good for workstation laptops. If you are playing a video game or using 3D development software, then it lasts about 2 hours -- still that isn't bad at all. Apart from hardware specs, I absolutely love the amount of ports on this computer. There are so many! That isn't something you see in most modern laptops. I, college student, have found this laptop to be extremely useful and would highly recommend it for work or studying! It obviously isn't the best for intense gaming, but it runs low intensity games such as minecraft with basic graphics and terraria with high graphics extremely well.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In my opinion it is comparable to the macBook pro, but since many programs do not work with the OS therefore my workstation is definitely better than the apple. The only weakness is the battery life and capacity.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very happy with the boost of power and the size. It's a little heavier than my older Lenovo, but I upgrade the power and am still able to easily fit this in anything. The graphics are wonderful and the size with the keyboard perfect.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's a great laptop with the configuration I got but I dinged a star because they need to offer an AMD option.
Moreover, the 1440p model should come with the same birghness as the 4K panel.
The 1440p brightness isn't bad by any means but I'm not sure why the high brightness is locked to the 4K models only.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This ThinkPad P1 Gen4 really impresses me for its speed and portability. It is good for running productivity software like MATLAB ect. P.S. the fan is always on even just the excel tool is open. However, after I update the system to win11, it is not power hungry any more.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had initially purchased this laptop as a "second best", since the laptop I had initially chosen was backordered for 6 months, however after receiving the equipment and using it as my daily driver for a couple weeks, I'm extremely happy I ended up with this one instead. The screen is beautiful, the laptop is very light for its power (and having a discrete graphics card!) and the carbon fiber material feels very high quality. I had read some people complaining about the action of the keyboard, but to me it feels like a completely normal and responsive laptop and the size is perfect for my hands. The underside of the laptop does get pretty hot when under heavy load, so you'll probably want to use it on a table or other surface when doing actual work, but it's totally fine for web browsing etc. My only real complaint is that the fans can get pretty noisy, but any form of noise-cancelling headphones (including my $40 Anker earbuds) pretty much negates this entirely.
