Bag is OK. The one thing I do not like is that the zippers are made of a low quality plastic. I do not think they will last long. My last Targus bag lasted over 16 years of weekly air travel. This one probably will not.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Our apologies about the redesign of the zippers not meeting your expectations. However, this bag does have a limited lifetime warranty. Most any issues with the zipper would be covered.
