Awesome product! Great coverage throughout 2 story house. Easy setup, especially considering the large number of devices we moved from the old WiFi system. Great diagnostic/ admin app. Reliable; no downtime yet.

I am somewhat disappointed. Setup required two calls to Asus. This system seems underpowered, even the wired through put in the router is very low < 50 MBits, source router is 300 MBits. I have a ASUS RT-AC87U as my whole house router and performance/coverage with the XD6 Mesh system pales in comparison. I will keep the XD6 system for the TV's and remote computers in my house but my primary network will still be the RT-AC87U. I am a loyal ASUS customer with several ROG laptops along with a new VivoBook which makes this purchase extremely disappointing, I expected better performance.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I split this Asus ZenWiFi XD6 set and connected each at different locations to an Asus RT-AX3000 router for strong fast 5G coverage throughout. One is WiFi connected and the other is hooked to an ethernet cable.

Most of what I read made me think that aimesh wouldn’t work for me because of the distance I was trying to extend the wifi. So I tried an extender, then a repeater and finally a bridge. Only the bridge worked and it worked so well with the aimesh nodes that the wifi is stronger out at the carport than sitting in the living room fairly close to the router. Aimesh is the only way to go. Thank you ASUS.

After trying put a few APs, we decided to get a proper mesh system for our large house. While 4 devices was an overkill, but the network is so seamless now with all wired backhauls. It makes it so good to roam across the house and not worry about the quality of internet.

After suffering trough 2 generations of Orbi (RBR53 + 2 satellites and RBR750 + 2 satellites) I had decided to try something different. Enter ASUS ZenWIFi XD6 times 3 - all disconnects, crazy MAC moves on the internet router are gone! DX6 is deployed in AP mode with wired back haul. Mesh is rock solid, features are on a par with professional wifi products. Love the system.
