Mostly good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The dishwasher does a very good job of washing and drying the dishes and is exceptionally quiet. However, I learned by accident that the upper left and right corners of the door have very sharp points. I actually cut my ankle when I accidentally brushed up against the corner of the open door. I would otherwise have given it 5 stars.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I cleans great and is really quiet. However, The tines on the bottom rack are too far apart so I can’t get as many dishes in as on my prior kitchen aid. On the top same problem and I’ve already had 2 glasses break. Not at all happy. The panel sticks out and is not flush with the cabinetry.

Purchased 2017, no problems, set and forget, love the utensil tray, very quiet, can’t hear it run, have matching drawer fronts installed by me to blend in with cabinets. Has satin glide slide out drawers, even has a light. My friend bought a high end Bosch, she is jealous, the drawer glides squeak, no lite. Kitchen aid is the way to go

Extremely Satisfied, Arrived ON TIME

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After waiting a year for a bosh that never arrived our appliances store said they highly recommend the kitchen aid. Unlike the bosh the kitchen aid arrived ON TIME! I absolutely love it. It cleans the dishes so well. The features are great. I especially love the 4 hour wash delay and the extra dry feature. I would say the kids plastic cups is about 95% dry. Just a few drops of water sometimes. Something i was surprised to see when we it was installed is a vent at the bottom on the cabinet toe kick. It lets the hot air out. Our cabinet makers had to cut our toe kick to allow space for the vent. No a big issue and it does dry very well so I think it’s worth it.
I would highly recommend. I have had several different dishwasher and this is by far my favorite. I hope you enjoy it as much as me!!!!

Extremely quiet

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our previous dishwasher was a panel-ready KitchenAid model installed in 2005 during a kitchen renovation. It served us well, but sounded like a freight train during a wash cycle. We decided to replace it with another KitchenAid model that would accept our existing panel. The top silverware panel holds a ton of forks, knives and spoons and the middle rack has a good capacity for cups and glassware. We do miss having flexible sections in the middle rack that would allow different shaped mugs to fit snugly. The bottom rack has about the same capacity for bowls and plates as previous model, but having an adjustable height middle rack is really convenient. The best feature is how quiet the unit is when running through cycles. We had to keep checking to make sure it was actually running, although the convenient color-coded lighting near the control panel (blue for wash, red for drying, and white for complete) is very handy.

Used to be a fan of KitchenAid

I bought this dishwasher 3 years ago, and the first issue was after about a year of use, the heating element started warping and eventually had to be replaced as it was interfereing with the bottom rotating washarm. At around 2.5 year mark the dishwasher started leaking and even after an expensive service call it is still leaking in my brand new kitchen. The company will not take responsibility for the reoccuring leak problem, and paying for repairs does not making any financial sense anymore. Disappointing on so many levels as we have been cleaning water off the floor for over 4 months now, and we are contemplating taking the dishwasher out and dumping it, going with a different brandname alltogether. "Great work" KitchenAid on sustainability, if your appliances have to be replaced after only 3 years. Also "great job" for not taking responsibility for serious quality issues as well as safety. Imagine all that electrical wiring at the botoom of the diswasher soaking in water every time we run the dishwasher. The first photo that clearly shows the leak was taken in April 2021. The service technician dismissed it. the following pictures are from October 2021.

Does not meet expectations

I originally wanted to buy a Bosch panel ready dishwasher but there were none in stock and none of the stores had any idea when they would become available. I purchased the Kitchenaid 304 at Bad Boy Furniture because the salesman told me that they were coming into stock soon and that the 304 received better reviews than the Bosch models. It was delivered in early November 2021.
I did some research on the 304 before ordering and it looked like an ideal option. However, as noted by other reviewers, it has some major flaws. First of all, although the website has photos of a model with a digital display, the 304 does not have one. Therefore, it is not possible to know how much time is left in a cycle. In fact, it seems to be impossible to even find out what each cycle is supposed to do and how long it takes. There is no information in the manual and if one goes to the Kitchenaid website, the information on "Cycle and Option Selection for Dishes" simply says "Refer to the Owner's Manual for detailed information such as estimated wash time and water usage for each cycle and option selection." Not very helpful. The manual has no information about the operation of the unit and my contractor was very frustrated by the poor installation instructions.
Also in terms of installation, what one might not see is that there is a small plastic vent just under the door. I'm guessing that there is a fan inside, which pushes out moisture after a cycle even when not using one of the heated dry functions. This is a great feature and results in the dishes drying well, but it makes contact with my kickplate every time I open the dishwasher door (requiring a modification of the kickplate). I suppose that it is supposed to function without a custom kickplate, but I can't understand why Kitchenaid would think that its customers who want a panel ready model would not also like to use their own kickplate that matches their cabinets.
The 304 also does not have a stemware holder. This is very inconvenient, since wine glasses just fall over or hit the side of the dishwasher when pushing in the rack. I can't understand why a dishwasher at this price point would not include one. I would think that people who want a panel ready dishwasher also drink wine.
The website shows the dishwasher as having a big solid handle, which does not actually come with the dishwasher. This would be a nice addition and since it is not included, that should be clearly stated on the website.
In terms of performance, it is fine. I have run several cycles and it works reasonably well. Again, my dishes come out dry even though I never use the heated dry cycles, which is nice, but I would rate the cleaning ability of the 304 as average.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love all the ways I can load the dishes- Its been fun to be creative with all the options! So much more space then my old Kitchen Aid- I LOVED and had it for over 22 yrs it was a work-a-holic - my painter broke it - so I was able to get a new Kitchen Aid- The only complaint I have about it - its so low to the ground! Otherwise I'm in LOVE!
