Lightweight but lack of some feature

After used Everyday Backpack (which is very tight and compact), purchased the Travel Backpack 30L for this lightweight.
1) It does not have dividers (like Everyday Backpack) but uses packing cubes which Peak Design does not provide any crossing bands to fix them inside the bag.
2) Another issue, like other customers rating, the 30 L does not have side access as 45L - which, in my opinion, should have been an easy feature with an extra zipper.
3) All Peak Design backpacks need extra shoulder pad for more comfortable use.
After a lot of research I went with this bag. It functions perfectly as a personal item or your carry-on. It fits under the sit of a plane, though extends out a bit bc of the length. It has excellent functionality in terms of pockets and so great capacity. I bought the packing cubes as well and they fit perfectly.
Great product overall so far, but I'd caution people that it is NOT rain/weather proof. I bike in the rain a lot so tested it in the shower and there was water intrusion into both the quick access pocket and the main compartment. If you're wanting just protection from short sprinkles of rain you should be good though.
I did a LOT of research looking for the best backpack for work & travel. Love that this has the suitcase-like full zip, lots of space, expandable, place for a laptop, etc. It is practically perfect. The biggest draw back is the weight. Without anything in it, the backpack itself is not exactly lightweight. Would love a lighter model of this. Other than that, super durable and has been a fantastic travel companion.
I love this bag. It is simple, but with a lot of thought and care put into the design. Also, the sage color is beautiful! I don't particularly appreciate using carry-on suitcases. They are cumbersome and annoying. With the 30L Travel Backpack and a small duffel bag, I can get up to a week's worth of travel supplies (maybe more if tried). It works perfectly with the packing cubes. I would make two changes: 1) Increase the size of the outer pocket a little, and 2) put stronger magnets into the external flap. The current outer pocket size works, and I can fit a lot of stuff in there, but just a little more room would be nice. The outer flap is OK to hold the external carry straps, but the magnets don't feel strong enough for me to trust keeping a sweatshirt or light jacket stashed in there. Overall, a great backpack!
Used this for travel for work The bag is very rugged Also quite waterproof Was in France and it was pouring But arriving hotel Inside Was dry Also very very good zippers Laptop compartment is great as well as the possibility to hide the back straps
I bought this 3 weeks ago in person at the San Francisco store. It was my first time in San Francisco and I wore it all over town packed with lots of gear for more than 3 days. It’s very comfortable and feels very sturdy. I love the external carry straps, which I used to carry my winter coat and a thick hoodie since the inside was very full including my laptop. I actually like it they there are only two zippers, since I put a lock on both for worry free travel on public transit and crowded areas. Would definitely recommend.
