Super thin and functional ... one inconvenience
on August 4, 2020

I really like this because my camera using the normal strap mounts will hang with the lens sticking outward instead of down. Using this will cause the camera to hang downward. It is really thin so not intrusive. The disadvantage has already been mentioned but I'll reiterate. I rarely use a tripod but as luck would have it, right after installing it I had several occasions in which I wanted to use the tripod. Having to use an allen wrench rather than a penny slot is totally inconvenient. It would be awesome if there was a way to make it threaded without making it any bigger. But basically if you want to use a tripod you must first remove this and you must use an Allen Wrench to do so. Otherwise, it is a really nice feature.

Needs tweaking

After seeing some of my friends with the Sling with the anchor mounts I was excited to order mine but I noticed that taking the sling on and off had loosen the anchor amount and I almost lost my camera to the rocks. I don’t know what can be done so that when it’s continually being taken on and off it doesn’t unscrew from the bottom of the camera
I would recommend this to a friend!

Like the low profile. Wish it had a swivel component so it wouldn't cause the anchors to twist. I especially wish the sling strap ends were also on a swivel.

Secures Your Camera. Check Bolts are Tightened

I purchased the Anchor Mount after seeing an Instagram advert, and actually seeing someone with it at my local camera shop. The mount plate secures nicely to my camera body, and slides nicely in and out of the anchor itself with ease. The anchor is very secure, even with my largest lens (not pictured). My two gripes are these. The locking the release button with the camera in place is difficult if you have large fingers. It could be easier to access if the diameter of the button was slightly larger. The other gripe is the bolts to secure the anchor to my backpack loosen easily over time. In one case, the anchor detached from my back pack as I was getting up from a rock near the ocean because one bolt fell out. Luckily I was still holding my camera, and was able to find the bolt camouflaged against the black volcanic rock. Lesson learned: Over tighten those bolts before sliding in the camera. Otherwise, I really do like the product, and am very pleased with my purchase!

Solid piece of construction with one flaw
on January 17, 2019

I recently ordered a Leash where this little plate comes in as well. Although it makes the Leash very usefull, there is one flaw that is bugging me – why on earth did you use a hex drive? I don't want to carry around a hex driver, if i want to switch from the plate to my tripod mount. I would suggest to use a little penny slit, which would be far more accessible (in all parts of the world).

Bought two of these. One for my Honda CTX 700 cruiser, the other for my Royal Enfield Himalayan adventure bike.

Blocks battery access on Fujifilm X-T20

The plate looks good and is small but unfortunately blocks the battery/card access on Fujifilm X-T20. To use this I will need to carry the hex key and remove it every time I need to change the battery.

Solid Bike Mount for my iPhone

The initial product I received had some problem with the mounting threads or hardware because I couldn’t tighten the screw nor the thumb screw enough for the mount to close around my bar. The screwhead actually snapped rendering the mount unusable. PD’s great customer service sent me a new mount without any drama after I told them what had happened. The new mount hardware was perfect and it easily mounted to my bars. Though I’ve only used it on 1 ride (their shipping isn’t the fastest), my phone was held super securely and I had no fear of it vibrating off the mount.
