Best strap for action shooters

I looked at every camera strap I could before buying this one. Shooting sporting events with a regular neck strap wasn't comfortable and I ended up just removing the strap and holding the camera all the time. I'm not
a monopod guy so eventually you get tired of holding a big DSLR with a 70-200 lens. This strap lets you customize how you carry it and change up the strap in just a few seconds. I use it as a sling strap mostly and for that, it is the greatest strap. It's so smooth that you just find yourself sliding it to your side all the time. I never hold my camera up for long and in between plays during football games, if I'm not reviewing my pics from the previous play, the camera is at my side. Moving around is easy and the camera stays in place and doesn't bounce around at all. Some of the cheaper alternatives might do an okay job, but they really don't compare to the quality of this strap and the quick disconnect option that you have with the Slide isn't available with most of those cheaper options. When the strap is attached and on your body, you don't feel like you have a strap in your way. I have seen where people combine the slide with the capture clip. I'm sure that works great, but if you aren't doing serious hiking or something that would move the camera around a lot, it's really not needed. Only thing I would like is a version where I can carry a spare battery and memory cards as I only ever wear the strap with the smooth side against me.

Get it in Ash, you'll stand out in a good way

I was a long time user of the BlackRapid strap system, but was never thrilled with the stability. Seeing that Slide offered two points of connectivity, I ordered the strap in Ash after debating if it would look professional enough compared to black. It does, get it in Ash for sure! The two points of connectivity to your camera do in fact make a huge different in stability. I first used this with a Nikon D750 and now a Sony a7R IV and both are stable and strong enough to carry a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens on the body using the Slide. My go-to setup for event photography is the ThinkTank Pro Speed Belt v3 with hip pad holding a Capture and one camera with a 24-70mm f/2.8 lens and then the Slide holding a second camera with 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. This combo gives me a lot of freedom of movement and ability to wield two cameras for hours without excessive discomfort.

Great Sling Strap

II am using a Hasselblad XD1 and a HD6-100 so I need a reliable and safe strap that can carry with a relatively heavy and light camera. I had been looking for a strap that allowed me to adjust how it fit and could be detached quickly as I sometime want to go naked [without a strap]. The Peake strap really works - it is very adjustable - it quickly and safely detaches from the camera to suit my needs. I am happy with the strap and gladly recommend it.

First impressions

I have a Nikon D2x. Even with the lightest lenses I have available it is heavy but it's also of great sentimental value. I was delighted to find how comfortable carrying it for any length of time became after attaching my new Slide. I expect I'll use it predominantly as a sling strap because it gets the camera safely out of the way when moving about.
Great design and attention to detail. Love the quick-release anchors and non slip grip. Thoroughly happy with this and can't wait to get my Travel tripod! If the Slide is anything to go by it will be fantastic.

Simply the best

My first Peak Design product was a leash that I clipped on to my binoculars. For the Camera I used the Black Rapid. Why complicate things? Ive now invested in a Slide for the dslr. It does all that I needed from the BR. Its lighter, easier to clip on, it feels more secure with the two point fixing and I can quickly use the tripod. What more could I want? I'll tell you - I got the leash and love it for street work, and I can swap straps with ease using the PD clips.

Versatile and comfortable!

I purchased the Slide about a month ago, and it has performed exactly as I had hoped! It's sleek, but the padding keeps you comfortable. It is so versatile! It can easily be switched from a cross-body strap, to shoulder strap, to neck strap. I hike a lot and do nature photography. My neck and shoulders would typically get tired from the weight of the camera and lens after an hour or so with my old strap. With the Slide, I hiked all day and never had any issues! Best strap! Thank you, Peak Design!

I love the simplicity and ease that the strap and anchors provide. You can very easily attach or detach the strap from the camera, and i have had no problems with worrying about whether my gear is safe or not. I put my full trust in both the strap and the capture clip.

Quality + Style

Love my new “Slide”. It's a beautiful addition to my camera body. It's got such a “style” about it that is far superior to the strap that came with my camera. I love the quick connect/disconnect feature, allowing me to go “strapless” on my tripod. I like the way it feels and looks when attached to and carrying my camera. The “Slide” is much more comfortable and versatile than the camera manufacturers strap. I believe it will last me a long time as the quality is top notch. I'm so glad I decided on this purchase.
