Even after a month of getting acquainted with the V2 version of his backpack, I still miss my V1. Accessing the top pocket as easier over the shoulder. The side pockets are less useful, and I can't store as much in them. The hidden pocket on the lip of the main opening is smaller than it used to be, for what seems like no reason.
All that being said, it's still a good backpack, and if the v1 isn't being sold anymore it's a pretty decent second place.
I hope that, in addition to fixing everything I mentioned, the v3 backpack includes the side pockets built into the water bottle holders the way that the Travel Bag does. Those are so convenient, I'd be able to stop having to use the top pocket.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Overall great design. Laptop area too tight

I really like my Everyday Backpack V2...used it for a couple trips so far. I'm not a camera guy and don't store any camera equipment. But it does fit a lot of things: M2 MacBook Air, iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard case, Steam Deck, Tech Pouch, Kindle, AirPods Max inside a slim case. I really like the backpack design and all the little things: magnetic back straps, magnetic pouches, luggage strap, latch mechanism, the dividers, the ability to remove and reposition dividers (I'm only using 2).
Was debating on the black version and ultimately kept it. My skin would graze the backpack and it would create a mark. But soon found out that a quick wipe with damp cloth cleaned it easily.
Couple of issues:
The laptop compartment is super tight. I see pouches inside the laptop area to fit a charger, cables, etc but I dont see how that's possible if you fit a laptop and a tablet. Even with a super thin laptop (M2 MacBook Air) and an iPad Pro, it's annoyingly tight. Just a few more mm here would've really helped. I do like the laptop size velcro that lifts the laptop internally closer to the top.
The Steam Deck fits vertically only (no surprise) but if I face the screen outwardly, it could scratch on the zipper mechanism on the left side. So I face it inwardly which further restricts space horizontally in the bag (the game controller grips would no lounger contour to the inner shape of the bag) since it's right up against the tech pouch (completely full). This means I can't put anything in either zippered compartment on the left or right side of the bag due to horizontal space constraints. Not the end of the world but a covered zipper lining would've really helped here. The top compartments on either side of the bag are magnetic so no issues there.

Overall great backpack and definitely recommend the tech pouch if you have a billion dongles and cables like me. They're all neatly organized now.l great backpack and definitely recommend the tech pouch if you have a billion dongles and cables like me. They're all neatly organized now.

Great bag, easy to carry

Love the design and all the thought put into it. Can carry my camera around easily now, and have some extra space to put stuff in for my kids at the top. The only think is that while it says it works with 15in laptops, and it kinda does. You really have to shove your laptop in there. Probably some slimmer models would work better, but it is really tight. Can't help it I guess, but still, really tight there.

Purchased as a travel bag, love the side access and adjustable inner shelves however all the other inner and laptop pockets felt very tight w little adjustability. The laptop sleeve felt very awkward when loaded up

very nice design (so you can see a lot of "modified copies" on the market). One thing I wish is that it has the zip flap for inner side pockets just like V1 so my stuffs in those pockets won't flying around
I would recommend this to a friend!

amazing backpack, few things I'd tweak are:

1) the adjustment straps are just dangling from the bag 2) the magnets keeping the shoulder straps attached to the pack when not wearing had come out of their socket and are freely moving under the fabric 3) a little front heavy, it can't stay upright and falls over even when placing it against something heavy. That's kind of it, either way it's been great so far.
