One Heck of a Roasting Basket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently got the Weber Crafted roasting basket for use with my Weber - Genesis II E-435 (2021 model) 4-burner propane gas grill.
Out of the box, the roasting basket is ready to use (after a quick wash, and as there’s no burn-off needed) and is spectacular. Made from stainless steel and really sturdy, the roasting basket has some serious heft to it. The high walls allow you to stir whatever it is that you’re roasting without fear of the food dropping into the flames below. Also, when used with the Weber Crafted frame kit, the roasting basket stays put while stirring. I used the basket to roast Brussel’s sprouts for the family, which turned out perfectly. But, really, you could roast anything in this basket. My next session will likely be seafood (I love salmon and clams, but my wife can’t stand the smell of them cooking).
While the basket is dishwasher safe, I always handwash my grillware. Knowing that oily, cheese-covered Brussel’s sprouts would make a mess, I placed non-stick aluminum foil in the basket as I wanted to make clean-up even easier. And, I didn’t want the parmesan cheese from the sprouts falling into my gill’s body. This made the post-wash even easier.
Of note, the basket’s punch-outs are sharp. There’s really nothing that Weber can do about this, as the punch-outs were made in stainless steel. Metal is sharp when punched. That’s all there is to it. So, why bring this up? Like I said, I hand wash my grillware. While the aluminum foil definitely lessened the post-grill cleanup, there was some oil splatter on the basket that needed to be cleaned off. The punch-outs make short work of sponges. It’s not a big deal, but the pre-use and post-use wash sessions destroyed one of my sponges. A longer soak session might be necessary to lessen the amount of scrubbing needed to get the splatter, etc. off this beautiful roasting basket. Also, of note, the stainless steel did “blue” somewhat during the grill session. This is normal and expected. If nothing else, it gives the basket character and still looks great in my opinion.
So, worth purchasing? Definitely. I don’t give out five-star reviews unless something wow’s me… meaning a product does what it’s supposed to… and \exceeds my expectations in some way. That very rarely happens. A solid four-star, which the Weber Crafted grill basket is, means that it does exactly what it’s intended to do. The Weber Crafted roasting basket is a quality addition to your grilling arsenal. I definitely recommend it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my WEBER CRAFTED Roasting Basket. It’s a must have when grilling vegetables, seafood and small meats without it falling through the grate. Dishwasher safe. Highly recommend adding this to your grill. I’m very happy with this product and the delicious end results.
