Love it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ive only got to use this coffee machine once so far but its easy to use, doesnt take long for a 14oz brew in my tervis mug. It is a little loud while brewing. Made a great coffee ,although very very hot. Cant wait to try out the other ways of using this coffee machine. I also like that you could pick how much you want to brew at once.

What a Great Idea!

• This is a great solution for our household of two! I like a medium roast pod coffee, and my husband was elated at the thought of on-demand, no fuss espresso.
• Out of the box cleaning and set-up were easy.
• At first, I was disappointed that there was not a preset option smaller than 8 ounces on the standard side. When all else fails, read the instruction book! I was delighted to discover that all I have to do is push the 8 oz button again when the cup is as full as I want. Brewing stops at that point, the next brew works just the same as always – that is, the coffee maker does not have to complete the original amount of water before it brews again.
• A nice design feature is the ability to attach the espresso drip tray high near the place the coffee dispenses, reducing cooling and enhancing the crema.
• It quickly reheats for the next cup of coffee, and the way it goes to stand-by then wakes when one of the levers is pressed seems a smart design function. Be aware that the water is very hot – hotter than what I’ve experienced with other coffee makers.
• The pump is powerful and creates very flavorful coffee.
• I like the design of the reservoir with an attached lid that folds out of the way for refilling, making it impossible for the lid to fall in the water if you’re clumsy like I am early in the morning.
• The FlexBrew nicely fit the space occupied by our previous coffee maker; even with additional functionality, it is not overly large.

Then the less good:
This problem seems to be a manufacturing issue. The espresso lever was rubbing against the housing, making it difficult to close and open. That lever is held to a small shaft by means of a tiny screw with slots for both Phillips and flat head screwdrivers. The flat head screwdriver worked better (with much effort) allowing the screw to loosen just enough for the lever to slide slightly along the shaft, barely enough for it to clear the housing. The lever is now operable, but still difficult. Other than the difficulty in use, the espresso function works correctly and makes good coffee.

Coffee drinkers have options!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The FlexBrew Universal Coffee Maker is overall an easy-to-use product an it helps to eliminate the need for multiple machines on my counter top. I have used it for a few weeks and so far it has brewed accurately and the coffee tastes great from my selected methods. I have brewed coffee with the two methods (k-cup and ground coffee) as well as the Nespresso pods. The only thing that would have made this even better, is if there was a milk steamer/frother but it's not a big enough issue but would be a nice feature. Pros: uses K-cup size coffee pods, Nespresso pods and ground coffee with the included coffee ground basket. It has a large water reservoir and allows to select a cup size when brewing (8, 10, 14 oz or Bold). Cons: the water reservoir is on the back which can be frustrating because I have mine under the cabinets and I have to pull the whole machine forward to easily fill the reservoir. The instruction book does not specify the Nespresso pod size (the Vertuo pods do NOT fit).

Great but loud

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The FlexBrew Universal Coffee Maker I received is awesome. It makes coffee fast and the coffee tastes amazing. The espresso part is also great. Also tastes amazing. The only thing I would change about it is the loudness. It is very noisy especially when you are trying to quietly make a cup of coffee before your toddler wakes up. But still worth it because it's quick and convenient because it does one cup at a time! I do recommend if you don't mind the noise!

amazing:) And im obsessed with the side espresso maker! No crazy cleaning to start, just a quick one time run through and youre ready to go! The only downfall is it is a little noisy. Besides that i would totally recommend!! Hamilton Beach doesnt disappoint!

FlexBrew Universal Coffee Maker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really enjoy using our new coffee maker! I previously had the single serve FlexBrew and filling it up every time drove me crazy. Now I only have to fill the water tank every week or so, depending on how often we use it. This machine heats the water and brews much faster than our previous one; I swear I'm making my coffee in half the time! I love how it's not extremely bulky and doesn't take up a lot of space. One thing I don't like is how the lid on the water tank rattles when the machine is brewing, but other than that I have no complaints. I haven't gotten to use the espresso feature yet (which is the only reason I gave 4 stars), but plan to in the near future. Overall very happy with the FlexBrew Universal Coffee Maker!

Tasty coffee!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This coffee maker is a dream come true! All of the features of 3 machines in one unit clears up valuable counter space. Able to brew a Nespresso capsule, Keurig K-Cup pod or ground coffee, it’s ready for whatever coffee you’re in the mood for. The extra large 56 ounce reservoir is awesome. This allows you to make multiple cups of coffee without having to fill the water between each cup. 3 different cup sizes for the espresso side as well as the coffee side let’s you make the size that’s just right for you. The powerful, but loud pump brews quickly. It’s not unbearably loud, but you definitely know when it’s running. Operation is simple and straightforward. When using the pods, closing the lid seems to take a bit of extra force, but nothing unreasonable. This unit is rated at 1500 watts, so take that into consideration if you are planning to run this on a power inverter in your camper, etc. I was happy to see that it came with the “basket” to put coffee grounds in so that you don’t have to rely solely on the pods. As far as counter top kitchen appliances go, this one is visually appealing. The removable cup stand is handy for a variety of cup sizes. Overall I am quite pleased with this coffee maker and recommend it to all of my fellow coffee drinkers.
