Espresso side lid won't close

I just unwrapped this gift and was setting it up. I opened the lid on the espresso side, and now it won't close at all. It seems stuck.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The best feature is the pour spout of the carafe. It doesn't run back or puddle on the counter when filling the cups. Also, if the warmer shuts off before the pot of coffee is gone, it can be turned back on again to keep coffee in the pot warm.
I like the 3 cup sizes for the single serve. 8, 10 and 14 oz.
