A "Smart" Purchase

I discontinued my cable TV service. I easily connected an indoor TV antenna to the Roku TV, so I could still pick up local stations and other over-the-air stations.
-It took me a few days to familiarize myself with the Roku features, and I am still learning.
-I am NOT paying extra for any premium services, but there are still loads of free selections.
-I am especially enjoying the Fox News and Fox Business apps, with sequential video highlights of recent news, and only very minimal short commercial interruptions, unlike the cable broadcasts with constant lengthy commercial interruptions.
-I am a fan of classic TV shows, so enjoy the apps of Hazel, Leave It To Beaver, Father Knows Best, Mannix, Columbo, etc. These mostly run without any commercials at all. The videos can be paused, forwarded, or reviewed using the Roku remote.
-I also have my favorite religious apps, EWTN, TCT and others.
-I like the "search" feature and suggestions made by the Roku TV, to find more programs of interest.
-I linked to my YouTube account so that I can view my favorite channels there. It's nice to have the videos shown on the Roku TV with its remote that allows reviewing and forwarding of videos so easily.
-I also linked to Hoopla and Kanopy via my local library accounts, so content there is free, too.
-The remote is nice to be able to asterisk* favorites and position the various favorite apps for easy finding. Once I got used to the remote, I found that I could easily navigate throughout the home screen and find all that I was looking for.
- This small Roku TV cost less than one month of my previous cable TV service.
- I am 71 years old and managed to figure Roku out. You are likely much more savvy than I am with electronic gizmos and technology. So, try it out for yourself, please.
