Unit does not display available networks when trying to switch from home router to Jet Pack mobile MIFI. Have to manually load the desired router. Spent hours on phone with support to no avail. Touch pad is overly sensitive.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great Laptop! This laptop has a great screen and a very satisfying keyboard. I honestly think HP has the best keyboard in a laptop right now. The computer out of the box was super fast and the components are still easily up-gradable something many of the other manufactures are making impossible these days. As an IT manager this laptop is a dream for my company. I will be purchasing more in the future.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 450 lineup has excellent performance, ports and low weight. The case is designed for maintenance or replacement of the internal components. HP's bundled system and security utilities are first-class, business-class. You might prefer a metal vs its plastic case, or a finger-reader or a brighter screen. If you do, HP can give these to you but you'll have to trade off with price, weight or timing of delivery. Overall, I've very pleased with the laptop, which replaced my beast of a 7 year-old ZBook.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Big screen, thin profile

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted a bigger screen so I wouldn't have to plug into an external monitor. I was really looking for something similar to my work laptop (HP Elitebook). I don't use it often yet. In the first month I had a bluescreen after what I believe was an automated HP bios update. Had to do a full restore. HP support was good.
What I don't like about this model: the keyboard layout is a bit more spread out than my work laptop keyboard; also the letters printed on the keys are HUGE and visually distracting (prefer smaller letters in left upper corner). Also - DISLIKE placement of POWER BUTTON. Please don't put it in the function key row! Some people use function keys, now I have to try not to accidentally turn off the PC. The function lock is weird too. For no more than I'll use it I'll deal with it but consistency across models would be nice. Every computer is setup a little different. Would prefer buttons on the trackpad.
The keyboard keeps freezing up. There seems to be some sort of Windows 10 driver issue.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Reliability Concern

I bought this as a replacement for my Spectre 15 and it is used primarily for work. I really like the unit itself. It is light, the keyboard and touchpad are responsive. It is fast loading multiple programs. I have had no problems with freezing. The problem I encountered was the camera failed. Since I am a mental health professional providing E-healthcare services, the failure caused a significant disruption to my work. HP repaired the unit, but I had to send it to them, wait for the repair and return. I then had to completely reconfigure all the programs I use, a task of 5 - 8 hours. Since then the computer has worked well. I would have rated it higher had the camera not failed.
Screen at 400 nits is comfortably visible outdoors, compared to a Pavilion 15" 300 nits, which was barely legible. Trackpad operation is very smooth; the numeric keypad is nice to have. i5 processor speed is fine - compiles are about 15% faster than an i5-8265U. Notes: something (either a BIOS upgrade or a Windows 11 upgrade) reset some performance-related BIOS settings: compiles were twice as slow after the upgrade(s), until I fixed the settings. Also, (left) Ctrl and Fn were swapped. Turns out there's a BIOS setting to do that in the Elitebook BIOS - I didn't see it in the Probook BIOS.
