My favorite feature of this laptop is its beautiful, sharp, colorful display. I gave my current 16" MacBook Pro i9 to my daughter and bought this AUSUS because I'm getting too old to continue messing with two op systems. Since my primary computer passion these days is processing and displaying my photographs, I've gotten razzed over giving up a Mac, but this ASUS feels like a pretty even trade for me. I'd hoped to go with a really powerfully equipped Studio Pro ASUS, but just could not get one both deliverable and affordable. If I didn't keep at least two photo editing programs, a browser with a few active tabs open (email, Facebook, YouTube, etc), and random other apps (Word, Excel, etc.), this model would probably be quite a rocketship.
On my desk I have added a BenQ monitor to give me more room to spread out various tasks and to see my photos in large size when I'm editing. Its screen pairs really well with the amazing display of this Vivobook Pro 16X... so much so that I'll really miss it when I'm editing "on the road."
I love the keyboard. Feel is great, layout is perfect. I haven't experimented with the famous dial yet (integrated in the trackpad on this model), but I'll get around to it. The trackpad works well, but when on my desk at home, I'll be using the included wired mouse as I am not a super fan of trackpads in general.
One occurrence has me a bit worried, however. My screen went black on restart. I could not think of what to do to restore it. Even hitting the Windows key did nothing. I finally managed to get a display on my connected BenQ, but not the laptop's display. After trying a power-down a couple of times, it finally worked to restore the screen. Don't understand the cause nor solution of this, so I'll be fretting about this for sure.
I would recommend this to a friend!
