New road "plates" are impractical

The good - my kids love this set for the playability and they have a lot of fun with it and like having the characters from the show. However, I found the road "plates" to be terrible. My kids, like a lot of kids, play with Lego sprawled out on the rug. The road is always coming apart, and when it's time to put it away? Forget about it! I'm going to have to work on how to reinforce it. Probably nice for a table and the customization level might work for a display, but not for us. We will avoid new road plate sets.

Looks unfinished and lazy

For the first lego city school, this set is unfortunately poorly designed. The school itself looks unfinished, missing a right second story wall and a roof. It wouldn’t have taken much to include this, and a few more pieces would have made the price more reasonable too.
I would have loved to have seen something a bit bigger as well. Multiple classrooms, an office area for staff, etc.
As is I can’t recommend this product. I’m going to have to buy some extra pieces or something to make it look like an actual building that fits in my city.

I love lego I have been collecting for over 8 years and love just about every set I have got but this set is insanely expensive for 433 pecies pls don’t buy this if you care about your money.

Excessively Small

Higher prices, smaller builds, few pieces. This new CITY style with road plates has inflated price for pieces most of us don’t want or need. This is true for the ones I own, Town Center, Family House, Skate Park, Shopping Street and School Day, however, it appears that this applies to all City sets with this new style. I don’t remember LEGO letting mw down like this before. I would NOT recommend this TYPE of sets.

Why is there no roof??

It was not clear from the pictures, but there’s no roof on this school! I have been buying lego city buildings for a long time, and I have an entire room dedicated to a lego city. This is the first lego set I can recall where they gave us a building without a roof! It looks stupid in the city. What kind of a school has no roof?? Who designed this thing?

great start for a moc

I think it’s fun to take city builds and finish them and then incorporate them into my city and I was excited to see a school. makes a great transition into my park as well. little bit pricey but I had a great time using spare bricks to make it mine. I added more lockers and a staircase to the first floor second is same plus stairs and the top I made into an art room. Definitely need to do a pab order and some landscaping to completely polish it off!

This LEGO set has brought our LEGO City to life! It comes with a ton of figures and we like that we can access the building easily. The bus driver is often nowhere to be seen however, as a batch of dinos from Jurassic World are on the loose after learning about Dinosaurs at school.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This set was so cute and fun! The little school bus was a hit with my daughter. She liked the other pieces too, but is a little young to play with them effectively. She liked to try to put it together with me though!
