I ordered a replacement laptop for my Thinkpad P-1, first generation. My laptop weighs less than 3 lbs, and has a keyboard without a number pad. That is what I wanted. I erred and ordered a 6 lb. replacement with a number pad addition. One would think that ordering a P-1, more recent generation would have the same basic characteristics. I do not care for heavy laptops, and I have a disdain for number pads.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great system for a mobile workstation. It does have some weight to it but it's a 15" with a 10-key that is solid and fast. If looking at working while on an airplane you may be tight on space between the seat back in from of you if setting it on the tray table. (Main cabin)
Like most of the ThinkPad line, the FN and Ctrl keys are swapped which is frustrating. That's the thing that has kept me from Lenovo over the years but I've gotten over it. There is a way to switch those in the BIOS from what I've been told but I try not to make unnecessary changes in the BIOS if I don't have to.
This P15 is a powerful system. I'm moving from a desktop that was built for 3D-rendering into this and it keeps up with my needs. (No longer doing the 3D rendering)
I would recommend this to a friend!

Lenovo P15 GEN2 15.6" with the I9 intel chip. The keyboard feels comfortable. I have had Thinkpads over the last 30 years and this new model seems as solid as my W510 and T580 from past purchases. The screen is amazing for pictures and graphics excellent as well. I really like the six-pound laptop; for me it's worth the extra weight from other lighter products I have tried. The fan is quiet enough in my opinion.
