Awesome buy. I bought this unit to better handle the work I’m doing with data, and it works beautifully. I had a Lenovo before, so a quick back-up and restore made the upgrade flawless.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The ThinkPad has been an awesome tool to use in my recent job change. I am thankful for the features that it provides to enable me to perform my best daily.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] With the i9, A3000 graphics card, 32 GB of ram this computer has lived up to my hopes of a mobile workstation. I spend much of my time in virtual machines with SQL databases and various programming softwares and this computer does as well as my desktop workstation.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machine has so much power and can handle everyday tasks such as web browsing, email, streaming video with so much power in reserve. Video and photo editing hardly put a strain on it as well. Some higher demand CAD applications were handled with ease as well. I'm not a gamer so I can't comment on how well this machine handles that.
Why I did not give 5 stars. If I had to say anything I was disappointed with is the speakers, fn and ctrl key placement and keyboard backlighting. Speakers have absolutely no depth to them. However, the majority of the time I connect my external speakers. I find the placement of the fn and ctrl keys on the keyboard backwards, or at least what I am used to with the ctrl key on the far right. At least there is a configuration that allows you to swap the two keys. However, you have to remember this as the label on the keys is now mislabeled. This can cause an issue if another user uses the laptop. Finally, I find it annoying that when turning on the keyboard back lights they default to off once the computer is rebooted and have to turn them back on.
Overall, I am very please with the laptop and all of the power it has to offer.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my third ThinkPad and I love them because they are workhorses. They aren't skinny and stylish like the Dell XPS, but they get the job done.
I typically use them from my home office, so I don't have to lug the 6 pounds around. I do occasionally take them across the country and feel the weight then.
If you compare them to the XPS you can see that the tech is the same. If you want a Windows Apple style of laptop then go with the XPS. If you want a laptop that will work hard for four plus years, go ThinkPad.
