After 8 calls over a year, and many promised and guarantees, my phone remains as the worst phone I ever owned. But dialing, pulling up apps and self-typing while sitting on table as if possessed is only some of its numerous other talents.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Screen is very clear and good size. Very fast performance. Front/back cameras are good. Many settings available to customize to your liking. Easy to navigate. Battery life very good. I like that you can get app updates thru Google Play without having to be signed in. Sound from speakers isn't the best, but the phone is so good otherwise that I am fine with it.
I have had my Google Pixel6 Pro for 4 months and the screen is already dead-- solid green screen. It started flickering with green/yellow and by the end of the day it was a solid green screen. Can't read/access anything on the screen. Never been dropped, no damage to the screen. What is even worse is the Google Support. I tried calling them and a chat with support and they keep telling me to power off the phone, change the background color, reset the device, etc. They never "listen" that I can't read/access anything on the screen. Remember the old pain with internet providers telling you to unplug the connection and re-connect the connection, to turn power on/off. Google support was worse than that!

I've had this phone for a few months and am already having problems. After about a month of having this phone the camera stopped working. The back camera specifically. It started to blur and won't focus ever. It's just blurry. It started glitching back and forth with working and not. Mostly not. The only lense for the back camera is will work on now is .7 I got this phone for the camera because I heard great things about it and it takes amazing photos. To my disappointment, the back stopped working so I have to use the front camera whenever I'm trying to take a photo now. I also do not like the way the back camera sticks out of the phone. It gets scratched up easily if you set it down wrong or in your back pocket. I took off the back cover after a few weeks after the camera stopped working and the scratches from the back lense was not the cause because there was no scratches when it stopped working.

I finally decided to switch from a Samsung phone to a Pixel phone. I was getting tired of the software that Samsung forces on you, that you don't want or need. I was apprehensive, as I have never used a Google-branded phone. I love it. I was able to transfer all my apps, pictures, and even passwords using the USB-C to USB-C cord. Once it all transferred and updates were applied, I dove in. It took a little while to get used to using gestures instead of back buttons and display open windows buttons (which you can still use by turning on in Settings). I like using my thumb to unlock the phone and turn it on. I've heard there are issues with this, but it seems to work fine for me about 95% of the time. Sometimes, I have to actually use my PIN. The phone rarely gets below 45% battery in a full day of using apps and directions. Right now, I don't see myself going back.
We appreciate your feedback and are sorry to hear that you are having an issue with your new Pixel.
