This phone is pretty sweet! It has excellent build quality and you realize that as soon as it's in your hand. It feels solid. The screen is quite nice and the 90hz refresh rate is smooth. It also gets plenty bright if you need it to. Android 12 is best experienced on a Pixel as it's stock Android without all the stuff other manufacturers put on their phones. I'm thinking Samsung here as my last Android phone was the Note 9. On to the Tensor chip. It works well from what I've done with it. Though not as powerful or fast as the A15 Apple uses, it's competent. The voice-to-text in Google assistant is accurate and fast. Google assistant is also quite good. Are you listening Apple? The cameras are also very good and Google's photo software is second to none. Overall, I REALLY like this phone. One is confident that Google will work out the bugs with a software update SOON. That said, this is a great phone at an excellent price with very little downside. A good buy, as it were.
I recently upgraded from the Pixel 4xl and honestly I miss certain features of the pixel 4 xl that are not on the Pixel 6. One of them is the motion detections to switch songs while they're playing which was handy when I was trying to change the song but could touch the screen. I also miss the facial recognition. I feel the pixel 4xl had better camera quality as well but the pixel 6 has a more consistent camera quality across apps. Some featured that I enjoy about the new pixel 6 is the bedtime settings which dim the screen to black and white and also mute notifications. Also the storage is way better compared to the pixel 4xl where I only had 64gb and moved to 128 gb. Personally prefer the pixel 4xl over the 6 though because of the cut back of features that I got used to implementing in my day to day phone usage.
The incoming and outgoing sound are poor, sounding as though there are no highs or lows. Only mids make it through, and even those frequencies are getting clipped. The non-phone functions are pretty good (crisp bright display, fast CPU, good keyboard response). But the poor phone audio is a crippling issue for me.Then again, what's a better alternative? Samsung lost it's mind and went headfirst into flip phone production, offering no high performance static-body phones to compete with the Pixel 6. Apples are apples and I just don't like them. It's a strange time for technology
